Eirik Ulland Andersen
Eirik Ulland Andersen (born 21 September 1992) is a Norwegian professional footballer who plays as a midfielder for Eliteserien club Strømsgodset. Career Early career Hailing from Haugesund, Andersen played for Vard Haugesund until he signed for FK Haugesund in 2010. He made his debut for Haugesund in Tippeligaen against Aalesund on 10 April 2011. Andersen played a total of 145 minutes in 10 matches for Haugesund in Tippeligaen in 2011, and scored five goals in three matches in the Norwegian Cup. Andersen was loaned to his old club Vard Haugesund, playing in the 2. divisjon, until 31 July. On 1 August 2012, he joined Vard Haugesund on a permanent transfer. The 2016 Tippeligaen was the 72nd completed season of top-tier football in Norway. The competition began on 11 March 2016. Due to the 2016 UEFA European Championship, there was a break between the rounds played on 29 May and 3 July. The decisive matches of the home-and-away season were played on 6 November 2016. A promotion/relegation play-off between the third-from-bottom team of the Tippeligaen and the winner of the promotion play-offs of the 2016 1. divisjon was contested on 30 November and 4 December 2016. The league was contested by 16 teams: the 13 best teams of the 2015 season; the two teams who won direct promotion from the 2015 1. divisjon, Sogndal and Brann; and Start, who won the promotion/relegation play-off finals against Jerv. Eliteserien Play-offs
The Eliteserien, until 1991 known as the 1. divisjon and between 1991 and 2016 known as ''Tippeligaen'', has employed a system of play-off qualification to determine promotion and relegation with the 1. divisjon (until 1991 the 2. divisjon). Various varieties have been in place since the system was introduced at the end of the 1972 season, but only one team has been promoted per year. The play-offs have always supplemented a system of direct promotion and relegation of two teams. The play-offs have been wavered twice, in the 1994 in Norwegian football, 1994 and 2011 in Norwegian football, 2011 seasons, when the top league was expanded to fourteen and sixteen teams, respectively.
