Einar Knut Holm
Einar Knut Holm (12 August 1933 – 6 August 2021) was a Norwegian politician for the Liberal Party. He grew up in Hareid, and following his education as a teacher he settled in Hareid. He chaired the sports club Hareid TL from 1971 to 1976, and later chaired the board of Møre og Romsdal Fylkesbåtar. He was elected to Hareid municipal council in 1971, and served 32 years, among those 16 years as mayor. He was a member of Møre og Romsdal county council from 1976 to 2003, serving as deputy county mayor from 1988 to 1991. He served as a deputy representative to the Parliament of Norway from Møre og Romsdal during the term 1981–1985. In total he met during 46 days of parliamentary session. The Liberal Party ( no, Venstre, lit=Left, V; se, Gurutbellodat) is a centrist political party in Norway. It was founded in 1884 and it is the oldest political party in Norway. It is positioned in the centre on the political spectrum, and it is a liberal party which has over the time enacted reforms such as parliamentarism, freedom of religion, universal suffrage, and state schooling. For most of the late 19th and early 20th century, it was Norway's largest and dominant political party, but in the postwar era it lost most of its support and became a relatively small party. Hareid is a municipality in Møre og Romsdal county, Norway. It is part of the Sunnmøre region. The administrative centre is the village of Hareid. The other main population centers are Brandal and Hjørungavåg. The municipality is situated off the mainland coast of Sunnmøre, on an island named Hareidlandet, which it shared with Ulstein Municipality, the commercial capital of the area. Hareid is regarded as the cultural capital with its annual ''Hareidsstemne'' and many choirs. Fjord1 MRF formerly called Møre og Romsdal Fylkesbåtar, short form MRF is a regional Norwegian transportation company, part of the Fjord1 Nordvestlandske group. The company headquarters are in Molde.
