Ehrenhausen
Ehrenhausen is a former municipality in the district of Leibnitz (district), Leibnitz in Styria, Austria. Since the 2015 Styria municipal structural reform, it is part of the municipality Ehrenhausen an der Weinstraße. Geography Ehrenhausen lies on the Mur (river), Mur river in southeastern Styria south of Leibnitz close to the border of Slovenia. Ehrenhausen an der Weinstraße is a municipality with 2,623 residents (as of 1 January 2016) in the Leibnitz District of Styria, Austria. The municipality, Ehrenhausen an der Weinstraße, was formed as part of the Steiermärkische Gemeindestrukturreform, Styria municipal structural reform, at the end of 2014, by merging the former towns Ehrenhausen, Berghausen (Steiermark), Berghausen, Ratsch an der Weinstraße and Retznei. The municipality formed with Arnfels, Leutschach an der Weinstraße, Oberhaag and Straß in Steiermark, the tourism agency "Die südsteirische Weinstraße" based in Leutschach an der Weinstraße. The House of Eggenberg was the name of an influential Austrian noble family from Styria, who achieved princely rank in the 17th century. Giovanni Pietro De Pomis
Giovanni Pietro de Pomis (ca.1565 or 1569/70 – 6 March 1633) was an Italian painter, medailleur, architect and fortress master builder. His works show a marked influence of late- Mannerism. Biography De Pomis was born in Lodi, Lombardy. He was apparently a pupil of the Venetian Jacopo Tintoretto. Styria Municipal Structural Reform
The Styria municipal structural reform (German: ''Steiermärkische Gemeindestrukturreform'') was a local government reform in the Austrian state of Styria, which was made effective January 1, 2015. This reform nearly halved the number of Styrian municipalities as the reduced from 542 to 287. The reform was intended to reduce costs and ease election of new town officials. The terms of the reform is formalized in the Styrian Municipality Structural Reform Act. (StGsrG). The law was adopted on December 17, 2013 by the , and promulgated on April 2, 2014. Ruprecht Von Eggenberg
Ruprecht von Eggenberg (1546 – 7 February 1611, Graz, Styria) was an Austrian colonel-general from the Duchy of Styria in Inner Austria, part of the Holy Roman Empire. He was a member of the Eggenberger family and cousin of Prince Hans Ulrich von Eggenberg. Military career He chose a military career early on in his life. In 1572 he served as a captain with Spanish forces and saw duty in The Netherlands under the great general Alexander Farnese, Duke of Parma and Piacenza. Ruprecht von Eggenberg benefited greatly from this experience and was ultimately appointed by Charles II, Archduke of Austria to the arch-ducal council and to captain of the guard at the main castle in Graz. Wolff Von Eggenberg
Wolff von Eggenberg (died 1615) was an Austrians, Austrian military officer and ''Freiherr'' of the House of Eggenberg. He was the nephew and sole heir of Ruprecht von Eggenberg. Like his uncle, Wolff von Eggenberg chose a military career and received the command of Imperial Forces as ''General-Obrist'' (imperfect translation is Colonel-General) on the border to Croatia. He died in 1615 in the fortress Karlovac, Karlstadt and was interred beside his uncle in the mausoleum of Ehrenhausen. Literature

Ferdinand II (9 July 1578 – 15 February 1637) was Holy Roman Emperor, King of Bohemia, King of Hungary, Hungary, and List of Croatian monarchs, Croatia from 1619 until his death in 1637.
