Egon Jönsson
Egon Jönsson (8 October 1921 – 19 March 2000) was a Swedish footballer who played as a midfielder for Malmö FF and the Sweden national team. Club career Nicknamed "Todde den Hemlige," Jönsson played 405 matches for Malmö FF, winning four Allsvenskan titles. He played in 200 Allsvenskan games for Malmö and scored 99 goals. International career He was part of the Sweden squads that competed at the 1948 and 1952 Summer Olympics, as well as the 1950 FIFA World Cup, winning one gold medal and two bronze medals. He won a total of 22 caps, scoring 9 goals. Coaching career After his active career he was a youth coach and part of the coaching staff for Malmö FF during the European Cup final against Nottingham Forest in 1979. Malmö FF
Malmö Fotbollförening, commonly known as Malmö FF, Malmö, or MFF, is a professional football club and the most successful football club in Sweden in terms of trophies won. Formed in 1910 and affiliated with the Scania Football Association, Malmö FF is based at Eleda Stadion in Malmö, Scania. The club has won a record 22 Swedish championship titles and the most national cup titles with 15. Malmö FF won its first Championship in 1944. The powerhouse of Swedish football in recent years, Malmö FF also saw glory in the 1970s, winning five Swedish championships and four Svenska Cupen titles. 1979 European Cup Final
The 1979 European Cup Final was a football match held at the Olympiastadion, Munich, on 30 May 1979. Trevor Francis scored the only goal of the match, as Nottingham Forest of England defeated Malmö FF of Sweden 1–0 to become European champions for the first time in club history. The win represented a third successive victory for an English side in the European Cup, after Liverpool's victories in 1977 and 1978. 1948–51 Nordic Football Championship
The 1948–51 Nordic Football Championship was the fifth Nordic Football Championship staged. Four Nordic countries participated: Denmark, Finland, Norway and Sweden. Sweden won the tournament, its third Nordic Championship win. The tournament was arranged by the Danish Football Association and the trophy was named ''DBU's Vase''. The tournament had three occasions of a team playing two games on the same day, including two times for Sweden and one time for Denmark. The Nordic Football Championship ( da, Nordisk Mesterskab, no, Nordisk Mesterskap, sv, Nordiska Mästerskapet, fi, Pohjoismaiden-mestaruusturnaus, commonly abbreviated NM or PM) was an international football competition contested by the men's national football teams of the Nordic countries. In the first tournament played 1924-1928, only Denmark, Norway and Sweden competed, but Finland joined for the second tournament, and at the last tournament played in 2000-2001, Iceland and the Faroe Islands also competed.
