Eggenfelden (; Central Bavarian: ''Eggenfejdn'') is a municipality in the district of Rottal-Inn in Bavaria, Germany. Geography Geographical location Eggenfelden is located in the valley of the Rott at the intersection of B 20 with the B 388 and the beginning of the B 588. The city has two railway stations on the railway Passau - Neumarkt - Sankt Veit as well as an airfield ( airfield Eggenfelden). Eggenfelden is located about 56 km southeast of Landshut, 60 km south of Straubing, 70 km south-west of Passau, 84 kilometers north of Salzburg and 110 kilometers east of Munich. Rottal-Inn
Rottal-Inn is a ''Landkreis'' (district) in the southeastern part of Bavaria, Germany. Neighboring districts are (from the south clockwise) Altötting, Mühldorf, Landshut, Dingolfing-Landau and Passau. To the southeast is the Austrian state Upper Austria (Braunau). Geography The main rivers in the district are the Inn and its tributary, the Rott. Rott (Inn, Neuhaus Am Inn)
The Rott is a river in Bavaria, Germany, left tributary of the Inn. Its source is in the municipality Wurmsham in Lower Bavaria, between Landshut and Waldkraiburg. It flows east through a rural area with small towns, including Neumarkt-Sankt Veit, Eggenfelden, Pfarrkirchen and Pocking. It flows into the Inn near Neuhaus am Inn, opposite of Schärding, on the border with Austria. Central Bavarian
Central Bavarian form a subgroup of Bavarian dialects in large parts of Austria and the German state of Bavaria along the Danube river, on the northern side of the Eastern Alps. They are spoken in the ' Old Bavarian' regions of Upper Bavaria (with Munich), Lower Bavaria and in the adjacent parts of the Upper Palatinate region around Regensburg, in Upper and Lower Austria, in Vienna (see Viennese German), in the state of Salzburg, as well as in the northern and eastern parts of Styria and Burgenland. It also serves as the basis for Austrian German. Differences There are noticeable differences in the language within the group, but changes occur along a west-east dialect continuum on both sides of the historic border of the Bavarian stem duchy with the later Duchy of Austria.
