Rottal-Inn
Rottal-Inn is a ''Landkreis'' (district) in the southeastern part of Bavaria, Germany. Neighboring districts are (from the south clockwise) Altötting, Mühldorf, Landshut, Dingolfing-Landau and Passau. To the southeast is the Austrian state Upper Austria (Braunau). Geography The main rivers in the district are the Inn and its tributary, the Rott. History The district was created in 1972 by merging the two previous districts Pfarrkirchen and Eggenfelden and parts of the districts Griesbach and Vilsbiburg Vilsbiburg (, regional: Vib ɪb is a town on the river Große Vils, 18 km southeast of Landshut, in the district of Landshut, in Bavaria, Germany. Pfarrkirchen
Pfarrkirchen is a municipality in southern Lower Bavaria Germany, the capital of the district Rottal-Inn. It has about 12,500 inhabitants and is an important school centre with about 10,000 pupils from all over Lower Bavaria. The town spreads over an area of about 52 square kilometers and lies approximately 377 meters above sea level. Pfarrkirchen lies at the small river " Rott", which gives the "Rottal" region its name. One of Pfarrkirchen's important industries include abattoirs which is due to the rural environment. Gangkofen is a municipality in the county ("Landkreis") of Rottal-Inn in Bavaria in Germany. Geography The market town (Markt) Gangkofen lies in the valley of the river Bina along the federal highway B 388 about 17 km (11 mi) west of Eggenfelden, 26 km (16 mi) south of Dingolfing, 40 km (25 mi) southeast of Landshut, 25 km (16 mi) north of Mühldorf and 32 km (20 mi) west of the county (district) seat, Pfarrkirchen. Simbach am Inn ( en, Simbach on the Inn) is a town on the river Inn in the Rottal-Inn district of Bavaria, Germany. The Austrian city Braunau am Inn lies on the opposite side of the river from Simbach. History Simbach was one of the first places where electricity was used. For example, Simbach had electrical power three years before Munich. One of the reasons for Simbach's growth is that it lies on the railroad route Munich - Vienna.
