Egg London
Egg London or Egg LDN is an electronic dance music venue and nightclub based in Kings Cross, North London. The venue has historically demonstrated a primary interest in techno and house music, however at present a variety of electronic dance music is regularly featured in addition to those genres. Egg London consists of three levels hosting five rooms: ''Basement'', ''Main Room'', ''Terrace'', ''Loft'' and ''Cell 200''. It has a capacity of 900 and is granted a 24-hour licence at weekends. In 2017 Egg London won DJ Magazine's ''Best of British'' award for 'Best Large Club'. History The club was founded by Laurence Malice and opened in May 2003. Originally a Victorian warehouse, the building was purchased by Malice in 1997, where it was first used as the headquarters for his original brainchild, Trade. The name Egg is a reference to rebirth. Kings Cross is a district on either side of Euston Road, in north London, England, north of Charing Cross. A rave (from the verb: '' to rave'') is a dance party at a warehouse, club, or other public or private venue, typically featuring performances by DJs playing electronic dance music. Techno
Techno is a genre of electronic dance music (EDM) which is generally produced for use in a continuous DJ set, with tempo often varying between 120 and 150 beats per minute (bpm). The central rhythm is typically in common time (4/4) and often characterized by a repetitive four on the floor beat. Artists may use electronic instruments such as drum machines, sequencers, and synthesizers, as well as digital audio workstations. Sam Paganini is an Italian DJ and producer from Treviso, Veneto, Italy. His 1997 song, " Zoe", made #47 on the UK Singles Chart. He has since released many singles and EPs under his given name, including the very successful ''Body to Body'' EP on Cocoon Recordings. In 2014, Sam released his debut album, Satellite, on Drumcode Records. Monika Kruse
Monika Kruse (born 23 July 1971) is a German techno DJ/producer and record label owner, with a career in electronic music spanning more than 25 years. She played an influential role in the early Munich rave scene during the early 1990s and was among the first wave of German techno artists to tour internationally, before moving to Berlin at the end of the decade where she founded her Terminal M record label.
