Eero Raittinen
Eero Raittinen (born 6 October 1944, Helsinki) is a Finnish pop, rock and blues singer and drummer. Starting in 1960, Raittinen performed in various bands, initially alongside his older brother Jussi Raittinen, but has mostly had a solo career spanning over sixty years. Among his better-known recordings are the Finnish cover versions of the Swedish ''Mälarö kyrka'' (1968) and the Italian '' Che sarà'' (1971). Finland In The Eurovision Song Contest 1974
Finland was represented by Carita Holmström, with the song "Keep Me Warm", at the 1974 Eurovision Song Contest, which took place on 6 April in Brighton. Before Eurovision The Finnish national selection consisted of two semi finals and a final. The shows were hosted by Matti Palosmaa. Semi finals It both semi finals eight songs competed and four songs qualified for the final. The finalists were chosen by regional juries. First semi final Second semi final Final The final was held on February 16 at Finlandia Hall in Helsinki. The winner was chosen by a professional jury consisting of 20 members. British singer-songwriter Roger Whittaker performed as an interval act. Che Sarà
"Che sarà" (; "What twill be") is an Italian song, written by Jimmy Fontana (music) and Franco Migliacci (lyrics) for the 1971 Sanremo Music Festival. Up until that year, each song was interpreted by two artists or performers to showcase the songwriters craft rather than the singers interpretations. "Che sarà" was sung by José Feliciano and the Ricchi e Poveri group and came second to "Il cuore è uno zingaro". RCA's Italian producers saw the song and the festival as a way to bring José Feliciano, already an international star, to Italy, as he already knew Jimmy Fontana. Although Ricchi e Poveri was a new, young group, it was chosen to sing the second version after Gianni Morandi, a well known Italian singer and RCA artist, had declined to sing the song. "Mälarö kyrka" is a 1968 song in Swedish language, Swedish, written by Swedish television, TV man Sven Lindahl. The song text is about a young man sneaking into a Church (building), church late at night to play Johann Sebastian Bach, Bach and the Beatles on the Pipe organ, organ. The inspiration to the song text is from the church Adelsö kyrka, and the song was originally recorded by Lenne Broberg and released as a single (music), single. The song stayed at Svensktoppen for seven weeks during the period 24 March-5 May 1968. On 7 April 1968, his version of the song entered the #1 on Svensktoppen.
