Edwin Hughes (politician)
Sir Edwin Hughes (27 May 1832 – 15 September 1904) was an English solicitor and Conservative Party (UK), Conservative politician who sat in the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, House of Commons from 1885 to 1902. Biography Hughes was born at Droitwich, Worcestershire, the son of William Hughes and his wife Elizabeth Gibbs. He was educated at Birmingham Grammar School and was admitted a solicitor in 1860. He moved to London where he became a solicitor to Local Board of Health. He was vice chairman of the Modern Building Society and chairman of Suburban Property Co. His political interests included being a member of the London School Board, and of the Metropolitan Board of Works. He was founder and vice president of the Metropolitan Local Government (Officers') Association. He was also lieutenant-colonel in the 1st Volunteer Brigade, London Division of the Royal Artillery. Walter Aston Blount
Walter Aston Edward Blount Esq. FSA (7 February 1807 – 9 February 1894) was a long-serving officer of arms at the College of Arms in London. He was born the eldest son of Edward Blount, the third, but second surviving, son of Sir Walter Blount, 6th Baronet of Sodington, Worcestershire. Walter Blount began his heraldic career when he was made Arundel Herald of Arms Extraordinary in 1830. He was advanced to the rank of Chester Herald of Arms in Ordinary in 1834. At the same time, he was Blanc Coursier Herald, an office founded by statute in 1726 and united to that of the genealogist of the Order of the Bath. Shortly after his appointment as Chester Herald, he arranged for his family pedigree to be brought up to date, thus establishing his legal right to the Blount coat of arms: , with a crest of . The title of Knight Bachelor is the basic rank granted to a man who has been knighted by the monarch but not inducted as a member of one of the organised orders of chivalry; it is a part of the British honours system. Admiral Charles William de la Poer Beresford, 1st Baron Beresford, (10 February 1846 – 6 September 1919), styled Lord Charles Beresford between 1859 and 1916, was a British admiral and Member of Parliament. Beresford was the second son of John Beresford, 4th Marquess of Waterford, thus despite his courtesy title as the younger son of a Marquess, he was still eligible to enter the House of Commons.
