Edward Robb (Missouri Congressman)
Edward Robb (March 19, 1857 – March 13, 1934) was a U.S. Representative from Missouri. Born in Brazeau, Missouri, Robb attended the common schools, Brazeau (Missouri) Academy, Fruitland (Missouri) Normal Institute, and the University of Missouri in Columbia. He was graduated from the law department of the University of Missouri in March 1879. He was admitted to the bar in 1879 and commenced practice in Perryville. Robb was elected prosecuting attorney of Perry County in 1880 and reelected in 1882. He served as member of the State house of representatives in 1884–1886. He served as assistant attorney general of the State in 1889–1893. Robb was elected as a Democrat to the Fifty-fifth and to the three succeeding Congresses (March 4, 1897 – March 3, 1905). He was an unsuccessful candidate for reelection in 1904 to the Fifty-ninth Congress. He served as delegate to the Democratic National Convention in 1908. Brazeau, Missouri
Brazeau (; ) is an unincorporated community in southeastern Perry County, Missouri, United States. Etymology The community is named after the nearby Brazeau Creek, which in turn was named for Joseph Brazeau (also spelled Obrazo), a merchant from St. Louis, Missouri, in 1791–1799, or by a member of his family. History Some of the earliest Americans to put down roots in Perry County were English and Scots-Irish Presbyterian settlers from Rowan, Iredell, Cabarrus, and Mecklenburg counties in North Carolina who settled Brazeau in 1817. There, they opened land in the Brazeau Creek drainage basin. In 1804, Brazeau was estimated to have had 88 inhabitants. The Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Brazeau was established on September 2, 1819, and a log church was erected. Perryville is a city in Perry County, Missouri, United States. The population was 8,555 at the 2020 United States census. Perryville is the county seat of Perry County. History Perryville was selected the county seat of Perry County by Robert T. Brown, Joseph Tucker, and Thomas Riney, who had been appointed to select the seat of justice. In 1821, Bernard Layton deeded to the commissioners in exchange for one town lot. Fifty-three of the 99 town lots were sold for $1,486.25, which was used to build the first courthouse.
