Eduard Riecke
Eduard Riecke (1 December 1845 – 11 June 1915) was a German experimental physicist. Riecke studied physics at the Polytechnic in Stuttgart, at the University of Tübingen and at the University of Göttingen under Wilhelm Weber and Friedrich Kohlrausch, where he received his doctorate in 1871 and qualified as a professor shortly thereafter. In 1873 he became associate professor and in 1881 full professor, which he remained until his death. He conducted experiments on electrical conduction in metals for which he further developed a model of management by electrons began by Paul Drude. With the model, among other things, the decrease in conductivity could be explained with increase in temperature. Later he worked among others with electricity conduction in gases. Johannes Stark
Johannes Stark (, 15 April 1874 – 21 June 1957) was a German physicist who was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics in 1919 "for his discovery of the Doppler effect in canal rays and the splitting of spectral lines in electric fields". Wilhelm Eduard Weber (; ; 24 October 1804 – 23 June 1891) was a German physicist and, together with Carl Friedrich Gauss, inventor of the first electromagnetic telegraph. Friedrich Wilhelm Georg Kohlrausch (14 October 1840 – 17 January 1910) was a German physicist who investigated the conductive properties of electrolytes and contributed to knowledge of their behaviour. He also investigated elasticity, thermoelasticity, and thermal conduction as well as magnetic and electrical precision measurements. Paul Karl Ludwig Drude (; 12 July 1863 – 5 July 1906) was a German physicist specializing in optics. He wrote a fundamental textbook integrating optics with Maxwell's theories of electromagnetism. Education Born into an ethnic German family, Drude began his studies in mathematics at the University of Göttingen, but later changed his major to physics. Rudolf Vierhaus (29 October 1922 – 13 November 2011) was a German historian who mainly researched the Early modern period. He had been a professor at the newly founded Ruhr University Bochum since 1964. From 1971, he was director of the in Göttingen. He became known for his research on the Age of Enlightenment.
