Edsviks konsthall (Edsvik Art Gallery) was a Swedish art gallery situated at Edsberg, an 18th-century estate at Edsviken in the north of Stockholm, Sweden. The gallery focused on Swedish and international contemporary art. Some 15–20 exhibitions of Swedish and international artists were held at the gallery each year. Edsviks konsthall was the second largest art gallery in Sweden. The art gallery consisted of two main buildings; gallery east and gallery west. Edsberg Castle
Edsbergs slott (Edsberg Manor) is a manor house and estate located by the bay of Edsviken in Sollentuna Municipality, north of Stockholm, Sweden. History The building was constructed around 1630 as an estate for Henrik Olofsson. It was very soon after completion signed over to count Gabriel Bengtsson Oxenstierna (1586–1656) who changed it into a manor in 1647. Queen Christina of Sweden visited and stayed in the house in 1645. In 1670, when the manor had been inherited by the son Gabriel Gabrielsson Oxenstierna, King Charles XI of Sweden and the Queen Dowager Hedvig Eleonora of Holstein-Gottorp came for a visit. The manor later belonged to the Rudbeck family, the first of which was the Governor of Stockholm, Thure Gustaf Rudbeck (1714-1786). In 1760 he replaced the old wooden construction with the stone building still in standing and in use today. Edsviken
Edsviken is an elongated, narrow inlet of the Baltic Sea running through the Swedish municipalities of Danderyd, Solna and Sollentuna in Stockholm County. Edsviken ranges from Stocksund and Bergshamra, Solna in the south to Edsberg in the north. The inlet is about long with an area of approximately ; its maximum depth is around . Edsviken joins the Stocksundet at Bergshamra and eventually flows into the Lilla Värtan . Edsviken is a popular waterway, it is used by anglers, boat owners and bathers in the summer and ice skaters in the winter.
