Eddie Jenkins (footballer, Born 1909)
Edwin Jonathan Jenkins (16 July 1909 – 5 August 2005) was a Welsh professional Association football, footballer. He began his professional career with Cardiff City F.C., Cardiff City, making his debut for the club in February 1930. After two seasons as a reserve, he featured regularly for the club in the Football League Third Division South, Third Division South between 1932 and 1934, making 87 appearances in all competitions before being released. He later played for Bristol City F.C., Bristol City and Newport County A.F.C., Newport County before retiring. Early life Jenkins was born in Cardiff, where his father worked as a blacksmith in a local steelworks before setting up his own milk business. Jenkins attended Howardian High School, Howard Gardens School but left school at the age of 14 to work for his father.
