Eddie Garafola
Edward "Cousin Eddie" Garafola (March 25, 1938 - September 28, 2020) of New York was a Gambino crime family captain who controlled the construction industry until the early 2000s. Garafola is believed to have been a made member of La Cosa Nostra since the mid-1970s. He was the brother-in-law of former underboss Sammy "The Bull" Gravano, married to Gravano's sister Fran. In May 1985, Garafola was charged with tax evasion for failing to report income from a New York discothèque that he owned with Gravano and a third Staten Island resident. Garafola and Gravano were also suspects to the murder of Frank Fiala outside of the same discothèque, although they were not convicted. On March 2, 2000, Garafola was charged with racketeering in a classic "pump and dump" stock fraud and money laundering scheme that made him $41 million over a three-year period. Peter Arthur Gotti (October 15, 1939 – February 25, 2021) was an American mobster. He was the boss of the Gambino crime family, part of the American Mafia, and the elder brother of the former Gambino boss John Gotti. Early life Gotti was born in the Bronx, New York, on October 15, 1939. He was one of 13 children (two had died at birth) of John Joseph Gotti Sr. and Philomena "Fannie" DeCarlo. Stephen Caracappa and Louis Eppolito were former New York City Police Department (NYPD) detectives who worked on behalf of the Five Families of the American Mafia, principally the Lucchese and Gambino crime families, while they committed various illegal activities.
