Edakochi
Edakochi is one of the oldest districts in southern Kochi (or Cochin), India. It borders Palluruthy to the northwest and is separated from Aroor to the south and Kumbalam, Ernakulam to the east by the Kerala backwaters. Bridges and roads The Edakochi Kannangatt Bridge links Kannangat to the Indian Maritime University junction on NH 966B (Kundanoor Willingdon Highway). It was constructed by the Kerala Public Works Department. The Edakochi Kannangat Willingdon Island Bridge was opened to the public in September 2017 by the Minister of Works, G. Sudhakaran, bringing the city closer to the Thevara and Kundanoor regions. Buildings Edakochi is home to the proposed site for the Kerala Cricket Association Stadium. Nettoor
Nettoor (also spelled as Nettur aka Tirunettur) is a region in the city of Kochi. It is around from Vytilla Junction and around from Ernakulam Junction Railway Station. Nettoor is located on Panangad Island and is a part of Maradu Municipality. Tirunettur Railway Station on Kochi-Alappuzha railway line is situated on the northern end of Nettoor. Both NH 66 and NH 966B passes through Nettoor. Location Education There are six educational institutions in Nettoor. Mundamveli
Mundamveli is a small town in Kochi, India, Kochi, Kerala, India which is famous for its scenic beauty. Palluruthy
Palluruthy ( ml, പള്ളുരുത്തി) is a region in the city of Kochi, in the state of Kerala, India. Palluruthy is part a of the water bound West Kochi, lying westward to the Kochi mainland. Palluruthy comprises the regions Thoppumpady, Perumpadappu, Edakochi, Mundamveli and Kumbalanghi. The place is famous for its temples landscapes, backwaters and lotus pond. A historical trade fair called Pulavanibham is held every year at Palluruthy during the Malayalam month Dhanu. Aroor
Aroor is a census town at the northern end of Alappuzha district and the southern suburb of the city of Kochi in the state of Kerala, India. Chellanam
Chellanam is a village and a suburb of Kochi city in the Indian state of Kerala. History Chellanam formed the southern border of the pre-colonial Kingdom of Cochin. In 1510, Goa was captured by the Portuguese general Alfonso Albuquerque from the Adil Shah dynasty of Bijapur, and Portuguese rule was established. The Kudumbis, along with Gouda Saraswat Brahmins (Malayalam: ഗൌഡ് സാരസ്വത്), Daivajnas and Vaishya Vanis who wanted to preserve their religious and cultural identity, migrated from Goa along the west coast of India, primarily through sea voyages.
