Ed Spielman
Ed Spielman (born in Brooklyn, New York City, US) is a writer and producer. He is one of the creators of the TV series ''Kung Fu''. Spielman wrote the story and teleplay for the series pilot, which has been credited as "the first American Martial Arts film." He also created the TV series ''The Young Riders'' starring Stephen Baldwin and Josh Brolin, and co-created with his brother the series ''Dead Man's Gun''. Spielman authored a biography of Joe Greenstein titled ''The Mighty Atom: The Life and Times of Joseph L. Greenstein'', released in 1979. According to a reviewer with the American Library Association, ''The Mighty Atom'' was "one of the year's best books.". The book was later rereleased as "The Spiritual Journey of Joseph L. The Young Riders
''The Young Riders'' is an American western television series created by Ed Spielman that presents a fictionalized account of a group of young Pony Express riders (some of whom are young versions of legendary figures in Old West history) based at the Sweetwater Station in the Nebraska Territory during the years leading up to the American Civil War. The series premiered on ABC on September 20, 1989 and ran for three seasons until the final episode aired on July 23, 1992. Production Filming of the original pilot for the series took place in California. After the ABC network picked it up, the series production moved to Tucson, Arizona, with filming in "Mescal", a western-themed movie town operated by Old Tucson Studios. Dead Man's Gun
''Dead Man's Gun'' was a western anthology series on Showtime from 1997 to 1999. The series followed the travels of a gun as it passed to a new character in each episode. The gun would change the life of whoever possessed it. Each episode was narrated by Kris Kristofferson. The executive producer was Henry Winkler. Plot Set in the Old West, this anthology follows the eponymous artifact, a handsome yet cursed gun that brings either disaster or fortune to whoever possesses it. In some cases of the former consequence, the gun's more villainous owners are killed at the end of the episode, while in others they live but suffer for their misdeeds. Joe Greenstein
Joseph L. Greenstein (January 2, 1893 – October 8, 1977), better known as The Mighty Atom, was a 20th-century strongman. Early life Greenstein was born to a Jewish family in Suwałki, Poland, in 1893. As a child he suffered from respiratory ailments. When he was 14, a team of doctors predicted he would die from tuberculosis. Around that time, he became acquainted with a Russian circus strongman, Champion Volanko, who mentored Greenstein. Greenstein traveled with Volanko and the Issakoff Brothers Circus for eighteen months, learning the strongman's training regimen. After this, he returned to Poland and married his wife, Leah. Career He began his career as a wrestler. However, due in part to rising anti-Semitism in Eastern Europe, he then left for the United States. The National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum is a museum in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States, with more than 28,000 Western and American Indian art works and artifacts.
