Ebrahim Desai
Ebrahim Desai (16 January 1963 – 15 July 2021) was a South African Muslim scholar and jurist who established the Darul Iftaa Mahmudiyyah, the Askimam fatawa portal and served as the senior professor of hadith at Madrasah In'aamiyyah. He was an alumnus of Jamiah Islamiah Talimuddin Dabhel and ranked among The 500 Most Influential Muslims. He authored books including ''Commentary on Qaseedah Burdah'', ''Introduction to Hadīth'' and ''Introduction to Islamic Commerce''. Biography Ebrahim Desai was born on 16 January 1963, in Richmond, Natal. He memorized the Quran at the Waterval Islamic Institute and studied traditional Dars-i Nizami course at the Jamia Islamia Talimuddin in Gujarat, India. He specialized in Islamic jurisprudence under Ahmad Khanpuri. Richmond is a town situated on the banks of the upper Illovo River in the midlands of KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. Dars-i Nizami
Dars-i Nizami is a study curriculum or system used in many Islamic institutions (madrassas) and Dar Ul Ulooms, which originated in the Indian subcontinent in the 18th century and can now also be found in parts of South Africa, Canada, the United States, the Caribbean and the UK. Namira Nahouza
Namira Nahouza (born July 1979) is a French author, academic researcher, university lecturer, teacher of Arabic and religious studies, and research fellow at Cambridge Muslim College, whose research focusses on contemporary Salafi-Wahhabi theories of Qur'anic and Hadith interpretation. She is probably best known for her book ''Wahhabism and the Rise of the New Salafists: Theology, Power and Sunni Islam'', which was originally a PhD thesis submitted to Exeter University in 2009. Isipingo is a town situated south of Durban in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa and currently forms part of eThekwini Metropolitan Municipality.
