Makram Ebeid
Makram Ebeid Pasha ( ar, مكرم عبيد باشا; 25 October 1889 – 5 June 1961) was an Egyptian Coptic politician. Ebeid was the Wafd Party secretary-general between 1936 and 1942. He was also the Minister of Finance 1930, 1936–1937, 1942. Ebeid helped establish the Wafd Party in Egypt, and he believed in liberal politics. He was involved in the 1919 revolution with his friend Saad Zaghloul and was one of the people who were exiled as a punishment, but he eventually returned to Egypt with some of the noblemen of that time. Family history and early life Ebeid came from a prestigious well-known family in Qina, Upper Egypt. Atef Ebeid
Atef Muhammad Ebeid ( ar, عاطف محمد عبيد, ) (14 April 1932 – 12 September 2014) was an Egyptian politician who served in various capacities in the governments of Egypt. He was Prime Minister of Egypt from 1999 to 2004. Early life and education Ebeid was born in Tanta, Gharbia Governorate, on 14 April 1932. He graduated from Cairo University in 1955 and received a PhD from the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign in 1962. Career Ebeid was professor of business at Cairo University until joining politics. In the 1980s he was the Minister of Cabinet Affairs. He served as the Minister for Domestic Development under the Sedki government, and then as Minister of Planning in the government of Kamal Ganzouri. Nadia Makram Ebeid ( ar, نادية مكرم عبيد) is an Egyptians, Egyptian academic who served as the Ministry of Environment (Egypt), minister of state for environment being the first Egyptian woman who served in the post. Anis Ebeid (1909–1988) is an Egyptian translator, to born to a Christian family, known for Arabic language subtitling of American movies. He was a pioneer in Arabic subtitling in the Middle East. He graduated from Engineering college, and then travelled to Paris to study for the master's degree in Engineering. He was the first in the world to insert subtitles on 16-mm film.
