Eastvale, Texas
Eastvale was an incorporated municipality in Denton County, Texas, United States. It was situated along FM 423, just east of Lewisville Lake in southeastern Denton County. Eastvale was incorporated in the mid-1970s and the population stood at 503 in the 1980 census. After a brief period as a distinct community, the town began a consolidation process with the neighboring city of The Colony in 1987. By that time, the population was estimated at 643. On April 7, 1987, Eastvale citizens voted 75–71 in favor of consolidation. In order for the process to proceed, voters in The Colony had to support the measure as well. Residents of The Colony went to the polls on August 8 and of the 1,266 votes that were cast in that election, 999 (78.9%) favored consolidation. Denton County is located in the U.S. state of Texas. As of the 2020 census, its population was 906,422, making it the 7th-most populous county in Texas. The county seat is Denton. The county, which was named for John B. Denton, was established in 1846. Denton County constitutes part of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex. Lewisville Lake
Lewisville Lake, formerly known as Garza-Little Elm Reservoir, is a reservoir in North Texas (USA) on the Elm Fork of the Trinity River in Denton County near Lewisville. Originally engineered in 1927 as Lake Dallas, the reservoir was expanded in the 1940s and 1950s and renamed Lewisville Lake. It was built for flood control purposes and to serve as a water source for Dallas and its suburbs, but residents also use it for recreational purposes. History Lewisville Lake is the second lake to impound the waters of the Elm Fork of the Trinity River in this area. The W.E. Callahan Construction Company completed the Garza Dam in 1927 at a cost of $5 million, which created Lake Dallas. The dam was long with a long service spillway. The Colony is a city in Denton County, Texas, United States, and a suburb of Dallas. The population was 44,534 at the 2020 census. History The Colony derives its name from the original Peters Colony. The Peters Colony headquarters was located within the current boundaries of The Colony in the historical community of Stewartsville and the site of the Hedgcoxe War. The Colony is also the site of Bridges Settlement (established during the years of the Republic of Texas and the oldest community in Denton County), Stewarts Creek, Rector, Stoverville and Camey, also known as Camey Spur.
