Eastland (also known as Eastland-Wilora Lake or Wilora Lake) is a neighborhood in Charlotte, North Carolina, USA. The area is named after the former eponymous mall, that was demolished in the 2014. Eastland is almost seven and a half miles from Uptown, Charlotte. Demographics As of 2010, Eastland had a population of 5781. The racial makeup of the neighborhood was 44.1% Black or African American, 18.9% White American, 3.2% Asian American, and 2.7% of some other race. Hispanic or Latino American of any race were 31.2% of the population. The median household income for the area was $34,449. The Charlotte Area Transit System (CATS) is the agency responsible for public transportation in the Charlotte metropolitan area. Garinger High School (sometimes referred to simply as Garinger or The G) is a high school located in Charlotte, North Carolina. History Garinger was in essence the relocation of Central High School, making it one of the oldest remaining schools in Charlotte. Gulf is an unincorporated community and census-designated place (CDP) in southwestern Chatham County, North Carolina, United States, southeast of the town of Goldston. Aberdeen, North Carolina
Aberdeen is a town in Moore County, North Carolina, United States. The population was 6,350 at the 2010 census. History Scottish emigrants were the first Europeans to settle the area beginning in 1745. They were drawn to the area by bountiful hunting and virgin land, and they founded the communities of Bethesda and Blue's Crossing by the late 18th Century. During the American Revolution, the people of what is now Aberdeen were generally Loyalists. Monroe, North Carolina
Monroe is a city in and the county seat of Union County, North Carolina, United States. The population increased from 32,797 in 2010 to 34,551 in 2020. Matthews, North Carolina
Matthews is a town in southeastern Mecklenburg County, North Carolina, United States. It is a suburb of Charlotte. The population was 27,198 according to the 2010 Census. History In the early 19th century, the new settlement that would become Matthews was unofficially named Stumptown for the copious amount of tree stumps left from making way for cotton farms. North Carolina Highway 27 (NC 27) is a primary state highway in the U.S. state of North Carolina. The route traverses through southern and central North Carolina, about of it as a concurrency with NC 24.
