The Eastern School District of Newfoundland and Labrador (ESDNL) was the ''de facto'' school board for the eastern portion of the island of Newfoundland, in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. Its headquarters was in St. John's and there were regional offices in Spaniard's Bay, Burin and Clarenville. The district served approximately 40,000 students with 4,200 staff and teachers. It was amalgamated in 2013 into the Newfoundland and Labrador English School District. Bonavista Peninsula
The Bonavista Peninsula is a large peninsula on the east coast of the island of Newfoundland in the Canadian province of Newfoundland and Labrador. It consists of 50 incorporated towns/unincorporated communities which have a population of 12,176 as of the 2016 Canadian Census. Bonavista is the largest population centre on the peninsula. Prince of Wales Collegiate is a public high school located in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. It served part of St. John's as well as the rural community of Portugal Cove-St. Philip's. The school was erected in 1959. At that time it was called United Collegiate and along with Prince of Wales College on LeMarchant Road was governed by The United Church School Board. The Janeway Children's Health and Rehabilitation Centre is a children's hospital located in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. Bishops College (Newfoundland)
Bishops College was a high school located in central St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador. It was next to another high school called Booth Memorial High. Bishops College had a French immersion and English stream programs and was well into its fifth decade as an educational institution. It offered grades 10 to 12 to a total student population of about 600 and operated under the Newfoundland and Labrador Department of Education curriculum. Bishops College was under the trusteeship of the Eastern School District. It closed on June 25, 2015.
