East Island (Ashmore And Cartier Islands)
East Island is one of three islets of Ashmore Reef, which is a part of Ashmore and Cartier Islands. It is located at , about midway between Australia and Timor. An islet is a very small, often unnamed island. Most definitions are not precise, but some suggest that an islet has little or no vegetation and cannot support human habitation. Timor is an island at the southern end of Maritime Southeast Asia, in the north of the Timor Sea. The island is East Timor–Indonesia border, divided between the sovereign states of East Timor on the eastern part and Indonesia on the western part.
