Earthwar
"Earthwar" is a story arc that was published by DC Comics, and presented in ''Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes'' #241-245 (July–November 1978). It was written by Paul Levitz, pencilled by James Sherman and Joe Staton and inked by Bob McLeod. The story arc features the efforts of the Legion of Super-Heroes to halt a massive intergalactic war involving the United Planets, the Khunds, the Dominators, the Dark Circle and the sorcerer Mordru. The story arc also features the first appearance of Shvaughn Erin, a long-running supporting character in the various Legion titles. Plot United Planets Ambassador Relnic summons Mon-El, Ultra Boy, Wildfire and Dawnstar to Weber's World to protect a diplomatic conference between the U.P. and the Dominion, while many of their fellow Legionnaires battle the Resource Raiders on and above Earth. Shvaughn Erin
Shvaughn Erin is a fictional character in the 30th and 31st centuries of the , appearing primarily as a supporting character in the various ''Legion of Super-Heroes'' series. A native of the planet Earth, she is a member of the Science Police, the law enforcement arm of the United Planets. Mordru (also known as Mordru the Merciless) is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Paul Levitz
Paul Levitz (; born October 21, 1956) is an American comic book writer, editor and executive. The president of DC Comics from 2002–2009, he worked for the company for over 35 years in a wide variety of roles. Along with publisher Jenette Kahn and managing editor Dick Giordano, Levitz was responsible for hiring such writers as Marv Wolfman and Alan Moore, artists such as George Pérez, Keith Giffen, and John Byrne, and editor Karen Berger, who contributed to the 1980s revitalization of the company's line of comic book heroes. James Sherman (comics)
James Sherman (b. 1948) is an artist known for his work in American comic books, movies, and logos. Career James Sherman is an artist and colorist who worked for DC Comics and Marvel Comics in the 1970s and 1980s. His first professional comics art appeared in ''Tarzan Family'' #65 and ''Blackhawk'' #248 (both cover dated Sept.–Oct. 1976). He drew the Challengers of the Unknown lead feature in ''Super-Team Family'' #8–10 in collaboration with writer Steve Skeates and inker Jack Abel. Khund
The Khunds are a fictional alien race in the DC Universe, notable for extreme violence. They first appeared in ''Adventure Comics'' #346 (July 1966), as enemies of the Legion of Super-Heroes in the 30th century. Fictional history The Khunds controlled a vast galactic empire. In the 30th and the 31st centuries, their relationship with the United Planets fluctuated between uneasy détente and open warfare. When the U.P. first discovered the Khundian civilization, the Khunds responded by attempting to conquer Earth. Dark Circle
The Dark Circle is a criminal organization that appears in comic books from DC Comics, primarily part of the Legion of Super-Heroes comic books. They first appeared in 1968, created by Jim Shooter as a criminal organization founded by five members and populated by a multitude of clones of the original five members. The Dark Circle concept was later modified to consist of members from five core worlds instead of clones. Wildfire is a superhero appearing in DC Comics, primarily as a member of the Legion of Super-Heroes in the 30th and 31st centuries.
