Mordru (also known as Mordru the Merciless) is a supervillain appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. Created by writer Jim Shooter and artist Curt Swan, Mordru first appeared in '' Adventure Comics'' #369 (June 1968). Considered among the most prominent members of the Lords of Chaos, the character is typically depicted as being an adversary of several teams and characters, including the Justice Society of America, Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld, Doctor Fate, Justice League Dark and his primary enemies, the Legion of Super-Heroes. Hector Hall is a fictional character, a superhero appearing in DC Comics's ''Infinity, Inc.'', ''Sandman'' and '' JSA''. He has gone by the names Silver Scarab, Sandman, and Doctor Fate. Publication history Hector Hall first appeared in ''All-Star Squadron'' #25 and was created by writer Roy Thomas and artist Jerry Ordway. Fictional character biography Childhood Hector Hall is the son of Carter and Shiera Hall, the Golden Age heroes known as Hawkman and Hawkgirl. Amethyst, Princess of Gemworld is a superhero published in American comic books created by DC Comics. Created by writers Dan Mishkin, Gary Cohn and artist Ernie Colón, she debuted in ''The Legion of Superheroes'' #298 in April 1983. Born into the Amethyst royal family of Gemworld, a fictional dimension full of magic and magical creatures, her parents were killed shortly after her birth by her future archenemy, Dark Opal. She is hidden on Earth by a witch and is adopted into a family, given the name Amy Winston. Eventually, she travels to Gemworld on her thirteenth birthday, learning of her heritage and became Gemworld's chief protector by opposing the Lords of Chaos and their agents, including Dark Opal. The Legion of Super-Villains is a team of supervillains who appear in comic books published by DC Comics. They are adversaries of the Legion of Super-Heroes in the future. They first appeared as adults in ''Superman'' #147 (Aug 1961) and as teens in ''Adventure Comics'' #372 (Sept 1968). The Lords of Chaos and Order are a complementary group of fictional supernatural entities appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics. While alluded to since ''1st Issue Special'' #9 (December, 1975), the group would make their first physical appearance in ''DC Special Series'' #10 (1978). While the group is commonly associated with ''Doctor Fate'' titles, they also appear prominently in other comic titles. Depicted as powerful beings of magic representing concepts of order and chaos, both groups eternally struggle for supremacy.
