Eamon Corbett
Eamon Corbett (1890 – 21 August 1945) was an Irish revolutionary and Fianna Fáil politician. Revolutionary period Corbett took part in the 1916 Easter Rising in County Galway with the Irish Volunteers. He escaped to the United States of America in September 1916 and was involved in republican circles until he returned to Ireland in November 1917. During an attempt to evade arrest in March 1918, Corbett fired at the police and was captured. He was imprisoned from September 1918 until September 1919. During the Irish War of Independence, he took part in a number of operations and attacks on British forces. During the Truce period, Corbett was appointed Divisional Vice Commandant of 1 Western Division, IRA. Taking the anti-Treaty side in the rish Civil War he was captured early on by National Army forces in July 1922 and interned in Limerick Prison and Newbridge Camp, County Kildare until early 1924. Martin McDonogh (1858 – 24 November 1934) was an Irish politician. Early life Born in Gorumna, Connemara, to Thomas McDonogh and Honoria Hernon, McDonogh was the second son of six children who survived to adulthood. He was a cousin of the writer and journalist, Pádraic Ó Conaire. He was educated by the Jesuits at Coláiste Iognáid and later at St Stanislaus College in Tullabeg, County Offaly. He briefly studied law at University of Galway, University College Galway. The 1943 Irish general election to the 11th Dáil was held on Wednesday, 23 June, having been called on 31 May by proclamation of President Douglas Hyde on the advice of Taoiseach Éamon de Valera.
