Eagle Vista
The Eagle Vista name has been used on two subcompact cars sold from 1988 to 1992 in Canada. Along with the Eagle Summit, the car replaced the Renault Encore because of Renault's withdrawing from the United States and Canada at that time. It was a rebadged version of the second generation Mitsubishi Mirage (station wagons were rebadged Mitsubishi Space Wagons). The Vista hatchback and sedans were available with either a 1.5 L 4G15 straight-4 (), or a 1.6L turbocharged 4G32 (), and was available with either a 4 or 5-speed manual or a 3-speed automatic transmission. The turbo hatchback came in the GT equipment level, turbo sedans were called LX and carried taller gearing. Turbos were not available with the 4-speed transmission. The Proton Saga is a series of compact and subcompact cars produced by Malaysian automobile manufacturer Proton. A straight-four engine (also called an inline-four) is a four-cylinder piston engine where cylinders are arranged in a line along a common crankshaft. In the automotive industry, rebadging is a form of market segmentation used by automobile manufacturers around the world. To allow for product differentiation without designing or engineering a new model or brand (at high cost or risk), a manufacturer creates a distinct automobile by applying a new "badge" or trademark (brand, logo, or manufacturer's name/make/marque) to an existing product line. Rebadging is also known as '' rebranding'' and ''badge engineering''; the latter is an intentionally ironic misnomer, in that little or no actual engineering takes place. In automotive design, a front-engine, front-wheel-drive (FWD) layout, or FF layout, places both the internal combustion engine and driven roadwheels at the front of the vehicle.
