"Eagle Rock" is the debut single by Australian rock band Daddy Cool (band), Daddy Cool, released in 1971 on the Sparmac record label. It went on to become the best-selling Australian single of the year, achieving gold status in eleven weeks, and remaining at List of number-one singles in Australia during the 1970s, No. 1 on the national charts for a (then) record ten weeks. NOTE: Used for Australian Singles and Albums charting from 1970 until ARIA created their own charts in mid-1988. "Eagle Rock" also spent 17 weeks at the No. 1 spot on the Melbourne Top 40 Singles Chart. The song was re-released by Wizard Records in 1982, and reached No. 17 on the Australian singles chart. Eagle Rock is an unincorporated community and census-designated place in Barry County, Missouri, United States. As of the 2020 census, it had a population of 193. It is located on Missouri Route 86 near Table Rock Lake. Eagle Rock has a state campground and public marina. A post office called Eagle Rock has been in operation since 1886. The community takes its name from a nearby rock formation. The Eagle Rock Retreat Center, home of the Assembly of God youth organizations Royal Rangers National Training Center, is located approximately 4 miles southwest of Eagle Rock. Eagle Rock is a census-designated place (CDP) in Botetourt County, Virginia, United States, located along the James River between Iron Gate and Buchanan. It was first listed as a CDP in the 2020 census with a population of 209. History Eagle Rock had the last lock of the James River and Kanawha Canal. Lime production This was the location of the kilns for making lime. Limestone was transported across the James River via a tram system and then burned in the kilns to make lime. Originally a river ford, known as "The Free Stone Ford", allowed mule drawn wagons to cross. In May 1884 a bridge was constructed across the river for the limestone. Later, large towers were constructed and the lime sent across the river by cable. Old quarries and locally known Quarry Hill are located on either side of US 220.
