Ekkadu Srinivasan Lakshmi Narasimhan (born 1945) is an Indian former civil servant and politician who served as the first Governor of Telangana. He assumed office of the Governor of United Andhra Pradesh in December 2009 to 01 June 2014,He was last Governor of United Andhra Pradesh. Later he took on 2 June 2014 as 1st Governor of Andhra, with Governor of Telangana as additional charge. A retired Indian Police Service officer, he previously served as the Director of the Intelligence Bureau from February 2005 to December 2006. He also served as the Governor of Chhattisgarh from 2007 to 2009. Narasimhan served as Governor for 12 years making him the longest-serving Governor in India. The Madras Presidency, or the Presidency of Fort St. George, also known as Madras Province, was an administrative subdivision (presidency) of British India. At its greatest extent, the presidency included most of southern India, including the whole of the Indian states of Tamil Nadu, Andhra state and some parts of Kerala, Karnataka, Odisha and the union territory of Lakshadweep. The city of Madras was the winter capital of the Presidency and Ootacamund or Ooty, the summer capital. Narayan Datt Tiwari (18 October 1925 – 18 October 2018) was an Indian politician who served as the 9th Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and 3rd Chief Minister of Uttarakhand from 2002 to 2007. He was first Indian Chief Minister who served for two states.He formerly in the Praja Socialist Party and later joined the Indian National Congress. The governor of Telangana is the head of state of the Indian state of Telangana.
