UNMIK
The United Nations Interim Administration Mission in Kosovo (UNMIK) is the officially mandated mission of the United Nations in Kosovo. The UNMIK describes its mandate as being to "help the United Nations Security Council achieve an overall objective, namely, to ensure conditions for a peaceful and normal life for all inhabitants of Kosovo and advance regional stability in the Western Balkans." The UNMIK was established pursuant to Security Council Resolution 1244, which was passed on 10 June 1999. Lars-Gunnar Bertil Wigemark (born 20 March 1960) is a Swedish diplomat. Career He was born on March 20, 1960 in Göteborg, Sweden. He graduated from Harvard University in 1984 with an A.B. magna cum laude in Social Sciences and holds a master's degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in International Law and Economics. In September 2010 the European Union High Representative Catherine Ashton appointed him as one of the first EU ambassadors as an ambassador to Pakistan. International Civilian Representative For Kosovo
The International Civilian Representative for Kosovo (ICR), supported by the International Civilian Office (ICO), was the European Union Special Representative (EUSR) for Kosovo (appointed by the Council of the European Union) which was re-appointed by the International Steering Group for Kosovo as the ICR pursuant to the Ahtisaari Plan. The ICR was the "final authority in Kosovo regarding interpretation" of the Plan, and could, in principle, annul decisions or laws adopted by Kosovo authorities or sanction public officials who strayed from the Plan.
