ETIAS
European Travel Information and Authorisation System (ETIAS) is an electronic authorisation system of the European Union for visa-exempt visitors travelling to the European Union or the Schengen Area (including EFTA countries), with the exception of Republic of Ireland, which is a member of the Common Travel Area. It is similar to other electronic travel authorisations, such as ESTA of the United States as well as the systems implemented by Australia, Canada, New Zealand and planned by the United Kingdom. The ETIAS travel authorisation will be required for travel to the Schengen Area as well as Bulgaria, Cyprus, and Romania. UK Electronic Travel Authorisation
The United Kingdom Electronic Travel Authorisation (ETA) is a planned Home Office electronic system that will be used to pre-check people travelling to the UK. The system, as part of the Nationality and Borders Bill, will operate using an online application which is checked against a variety of security databases, and if the person has not committed a crime they will be given travel authorisation. If the person has committed a crime, their application will go for further review to decide whether or not to allow them travel authorisation. Electronic System For Travel Authorization
The Electronic System for Travel Authorization (ESTA) is an automated system that determines the eligibility of visitors to travel to the United States under the Visa Waiver Program (VWP). ESTA was mandated by the Implementing Recommendations of the 9/11 Commission Act of 2007. ESTA only authorizes travel to a U.S. airport, border or port of entry, but admissibility into the United States is determined by a U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officer upon arrival. The ESTA application collects biographic information and answers to VWP eligibility questions. ESTA applications may be made at any time, but travelers are encouraged to apply at least 72 hours prior to travel.
