Efficient Consumer Response
{{Notability, date=July 2022 Efficient Consumer Response (ECR) is a joint trade and industry body working towards making the grocery sector as a whole more responsive to consumer demand and promote the removal of unnecessary costs from the supply chain. There are four focus areas under ECR: demand management, supply management, enablers and integrators, which are intended to be addressed as an integrated set. These form the basis of the ECR Global Scorecard. ECR Community In September 2016, ECR Community replaced ECR Europe as the focal point for consumer goods retailers and manufacturers to work together for the benefit of consumers across Europe. Owned and managed by the ECR National Associations, which span and the international ECR Shrink and On Shelf Availability group. These associations are supported by over 1,800 retailers, manufacturers and service providers. ECR Europe ECR Europe was launched in 1994. With its headquarters in Brussels, the organization works in co-oper ...

Eastern Counties Railway
The Eastern Counties Railway (ECR) was an English Rail transport, railway company incorporated in 1836 intended to link London with Ipswich via Colchester, and then extend to Norwich and Great Yarmouth, Yarmouth. Construction began in 1837 on the first nine miles at the London end. Construction was beset by engineering and other problems, leading to severe financial difficulties. As a result, the project was truncated at Colchester in 1843 but through a series of acquisitions (including the Eastern Union Railway who completed the link between Colchester and Norwich) and opening of other lines, the ECR became the largest of the East Anglian railways. In 1862 ECR was merged with a number of other companies to form the Great Eastern Railway. Opening In 1835 a surveyor called Henry Sayer presented a plan for a new railway from London to York via Cambridge to London solicitors Dimes & Boyman. Together with John Clinton Robertson who was to become the first secretary of the ECR and e ...

New Investigator
Certain scholarly funding agencies make a distinction between investigators and new investigators. New investigators would be evaluated in a different way when competing for funding with more seasoned researchers, or they would be able to access funding resources specific to them. The rationale behind is to avoid the current trend that for certain grants the average age of the researchers receiving it for the first time keeps increasing over the years (See graph). Definition The formal definition of a new investigator varies with the funding agency. For example, for the United States National Institutes of Health, a new investigator is one that does not have a story of previous funding. Other organizations, such as the Alzheimer's Association, consider a new investigator someone that is less than 10 years past their PhD degree. The Canadian Institutes of Health Research require a maximum of 60 months holding a full-time research appointment, and the Leukemia Research Foundatio ...

Engineering Change Order
An engineering change order (ECO), also called an engineering change notice (ECN), engineering change (EC), or engineering release notice(ERN), is an artifact used to implement changes to components or end products. The ECO is utilized to control and coordinate changes to product designs that evolve over time. The need for an engineering change may be triggered by a number of events and varies by industry. Typical engineering change categories are: * Product Evolution - a change resulting in applying an existing part to a new application and maintaining backwards compatibility * Cost Reduction - a change resulting in lower overall cost to produce or maintain * Product Performance - a change that improves the capabilities of the item * Safety - a change required to enhance the safety to those using or interacting with the item Usage and contents An ECO is defined as " document approved by the design activity that describes and authorizes the implementation of an engineering ...

Change Request
A change request (aka Change Control Request, or CCR) is a document containing a call for an adjustment of a system; it is of great importance in the change management process. Purpose and elements A change request is declarative, i.e. it states what needs to be accomplished, but leaves out how the change should be carried out. Important elements of a change request are an ID, the customer (ID), the deadline (if applicable), an indication whether the change is required or optional, the change type (often chosen from a domain-specific ontology) and a change abstract, which is a piece of narrative (Keller, 2005). An example of a change request can be found in Figure 1 on the right. Sources Change requests typically originate from one of five sources: # problem reports that identify bugs that must be fixed, which forms the most common source # system enhancement requests from users # events in the development of other systems # changes in underlying structure and or standards ( ...

Electrical Contact Resistance
The term contact resistance refers to the contribution to the total resistance of a system which can be attributed to the contacting interfaces of electrical leads and connections as opposed to the intrinsic resistance. This effect is described by the term electrical contact resistance (ECR) and arises as the result of the limited areas of true contact at an interface and the presence of resistive surface films or oxide layers. ECR may vary with time, most often decreasing, in a process known as resistance creep. The idea of potential drop on the injection electrode was introduced by William Shockley to explain the difference between the experimental results and the model of gradual channel approximation. In addition to the term ECR, ''interface resistance'', ''transitional resistance'', or just simply ''correction term'' are also used. The term ''parasitic resistance'' is used as a more general term, of which it is usually assumed that contact resistance is a major component. ...

European Congress Of Radiology
The European Congress of Radiology (Europäischer Röntgenkongress) is an annual meeting in Europe for radiologists from around the world. Founded in 1967, the Congress is run by Verein Europäischer Röntgenkongress’ (ECR). History When the congress was founded in 1967, it was held every four years in a different location. However, this format did not allow for the creation of a consistent group of experienced radiologists responsible for the preparation of the congress. Furthermore, the radiological community in Europe wanted to create a common platform for European radiologists. In 1985, a committee chaired by Prof. Dr. Josef Lissner from Munich (Germany) was established to re-organise the Congress. The committee recommended holding the congress every two years in the same location, Vienna (Austria) . The society ‘Verein Europäischer Röntgenkongress’ (ECR) was founded, and a congress-organising institution was established at the Medical Academy of Vienna. The first â ...

Electron Cyclotron Resonance
Electron cyclotron resonance (ECR) is a phenomenon observed in plasma physics, condensed matter physics, and accelerator physics. It happens when the frequency of incident radiation coincides with the natural frequency of rotation of electrons in magnetic fields. A free electron in a static and uniform magnetic field will move in a circle due to the Lorentz force. The circular motion may be superimposed with a uniform axial motion, resulting in a helix, or with a uniform motion perpendicular to the field (e.g., in the presence of an electrical or gravitational field) resulting in a cycloid. The angular frequency (ω = 2Ï€ ''f'' ) of this ''cyclotron'' motion for a given magnetic field strength ''B'' is given (in SI units) by :\omega_\text = \frac. where e is the elementary charge and m is the mass of the electron. For the commonly used microwave frequency 2.45 GHz and the bare electron charge and mass, the resonance condition is met when ''B'' = 875 G = 0.0875 T. ...
