E. P. Jayarajan
E. P. Jayarajan (born 28 May 1950) is an Indian politician from the state of Kerala. He was the Minister for Industries and Sports in the Pinarayi Vijayan Ministry. He was elected to the Kerala Legislative Assembly from Mattanur constituency in Kannur district and is a member of the Communist Party of India (Marxist). He completed his Diploma in Electrical Engineering. Political career He was the first All India President of D.Y.F.I. (Democratic Youth Federation of India) and was the General Manager of the CPI(M) party mouthpiece ''Deshabhimani''. He was the President of Kerala Karshaka Sangham and Central Committee Member of Communist Party of India (Marxist). He was a Member of Kerala Legislative Assembly from 1991 to 1996 and 2011 to 2021. The Left Democratic Front (LDF) is an alliance of left-wing political parties in the state of Kerala, India. It is the current ruling political alliance of Kerala, since 2016. It is one of the two major political alliances in Kerala, the other being Indian National Congress-led United Democratic Front, each of which has been in power alternately for the last four decades. LDF has won the elections to the State Legislature of Kerala in the years 1980, 1987, 1996, 2006, 2016 and had a historic re-election in 2021 where an incumbent government was re-elected for first time in 40 years. Pinarayi Vijayan (; born 24 May 1945) is an Indian Communist politician who is the current Chief Minister of Kerala, serving since 25 May 2016. A member of the Politburo of the Communist Party of India (Marxist), he is the longest-serving secretary of the Kerala State Committee of the CPI(M) (1998–2015). He also served in the government of Kerala as Minister of Electric Power and Co-operatives from 1996 to 1998. Vijayan won a seat in the May 2016 Kerala Legislative Assembly election as the CPI(M) candidate for Dharmadom constituency and was selected as the leader of the Left Democratic Front (LDF) and became the 12th Chief Minister of Kerala. Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) is a youth organisation in India. It was founded in its inaugural conference held from 1–3 November 1980 at Shaheed Kartar Singh Saraba village in Ludhiana, Punjab. DYFI identifies itself to be an independent organisation.
