Duško Savanović
Duško Savanović ( sr-cyr, Душко Савановић, born September 5, 1983) is a Serbian former professional basketball player. A power forward, he represented the Serbian national basketball team internationally and was an All-Euroleague Second Team selection in 2011. Professional career Early years In his first three years of the professional career, Savanović played for domestic clubs, two seasons with the FMP and one season with the Borac Čačak, both participants of the YUBA League. He helped FMP to win the Adriatic League title in 2006, the second in the club's history. UNICS Kazan In October 2006, after almost ten years of playing with the FMP (including his youth career), he signed a two-year contract with the Russian basketball team UNICS Kazan. UNICS also participated in the ULEB Cup. The Serbia men's national basketball team ( sr, Кошаркашка репрезентација Србије, Košarkaška reprezentacija Srbije) represents Serbia in international basketball competition and is controlled by the Basketball Federation of Serbia. Serbia is currently ranked sixth in the FIBA World Rankings. From 1992 to 2003, the national team played under the name of FR Yugoslavia and from 2003 to 2006, under the name of Serbia and Montenegro in international tournaments. 2010 FIBA World Championship
The 2010 FIBA World Championship was the 16th FIBA World Championship, the international basketball world championship contested by the men's national teams. The tournament ran from 28 August to 12 September 2010. It was co-organised by the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), Turkish Basketball Federation and the 2010 Organising Committee. It was considered as prestigious a competition as the Olympic Basketball Tournament. The tournament was hosted by Turkey. For the third time (after the 1986 and 2006 tournaments), the World Championship had 24 competing nations. The Liga ACB, known as Liga Endesa for sponsorship reasons, is the top professional basketball division of the Spanish basketball league system. Administrated by the Asociación de Clubs de Baloncesto (ACB), Liga ACB is contested by 18 teams, with the two lowest-placed teams relegated to the LEB Oro and replaced by the top team in that division plus the winner of the promotion playoffs. BC UNICS (russian: БК УНИКС) is a professional basketball club in Kazan, Russia, that plays in the VTB United League, and formerly played in the EuroLeague.
