Duur
Duur (Urdu: دور, literal English translation: "far") is the third album by the Pakistani pop band Strings, first released on 21 January 2000 and then re-released on 1 January 2002. Singles from the album were ''Duur'', ''Anjane'', and ''Aankhain''. The album was a result of the band's comeback into the Pakistani pop scene after a hiatus of eight years. Originally a quartet, the band decided to continue with only two of its former members. The album was poetically named ‘''duur''’ meaning ‘''far''’ in Urdu to depict their journey restarted, towards a goal that they see from afar. Background Strings began as a quartet led by Faisal Kapadia and Bilal Maqsood, accompanied by Rafiq Wazir Ali and Kareem Bashir Bhoy. The four disbanded in 1992 to continue their studies. 2 (Strings Album)
''2'' is the second studio album by Pakistani pop rock band Strings. Singles from the album included "Sar Kiye Yeh Pahar" and "Aaj Mein Khud He Se". Release In 1992, the band came up with a follow-up album titled ''2'', released by Shalimar Recording Company. Maqsood realising that the band needed more exposure, advised that a music video to be shot. He himself took charge of the direction of the video for the song, "Sar Kiye Yeh Pahar", and handed it to the STN to be aired on their show. The video was played for a minute on the channel in their hour-long show and with not many new videos from competing artists, Maqsood's directorial début was an instant success. This decision proved beneficial and "Sar Kiye Yeh Pahar" became a nationwide hit overnight. In its most primitive form, the video and the song created a phenomenon in the local music industry and the band scored hits after another, played shows and enjoyed the lifestyle of the post-80s pop stars. Dhaani (Urdu: دھانی, literal English translation: "light green") was the fourth album by the Pakistani pop band Strings, released in 2003. Singles from the album were "Mera Bichara Yaar", "Soniyae", "Chaaye Chaaye", "Pal", "Bolo Bolo", "Dhaani", "Najane Kyun", "Hai Koi Hum Jaisa" and "Kahani Mohabbat Ki". Dhaani by Strings was Pakistan's 1st Record-Breaking Album with 8 Videos And 5 Awards. Qirat Hamed covered their song Mera Bichra Yaar. Concept Dhaani means light green. It has come from a word called 'Dhaan' that is the outer covering of a raw grain of rice (''kacha chawal ka daana''). The green color of that grain is called dhaani. Dhaani, the first song of the album is a blend of Faisal's groovy voice and Bilal Maqsood's guitars. Next in line is "Najane Kyun". Aaroh ( ) is an alternative rock band from Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan, formed in 1998. The band was founded by keyboardist Kamran Khan and lead guitarist Nabeel Nihal . (This name was given to them by Shoaib Mansoor), who were joined by, Vocalist Farooq Ahmed, Bassist Khalid Khan and Drummer Adnan Hussain. The band achieved fame with their exuberant live performances backed up with thought provoking lyrics, and also, their performance in the Pakistani rock scene in 2002, most notably at the Pepsi Battles of the bands, helped them leave a trail for themselves.
