Dhaani
Dhaani (Urdu: دھانی, literal English translation: "light green") was the fourth album by the Pakistani pop band Strings, released in 2003. Singles from the album were "Mera Bichara Yaar", "Soniyae", "Chaaye Chaaye", "Pal", "Bolo Bolo", "Dhaani", "Najane Kyun", "Hai Koi Hum Jaisa" and "Kahani Mohabbat Ki". Dhaani by Strings was Pakistan's 1st Record-Breaking Album with 8 Videos And 5 Awards. Qirat Hamed covered their song Mera Bichra Yaar. Concept Dhaani means light green. It has come from a word called 'Dhaan' that is the outer covering of a raw grain of rice (''kacha chawal ka daana''). The green color of that grain is called dhaani. Dhaani, the first song of the album is a blend of Faisal's groovy voice and Bilal Maqsood's guitars. Next in line is "Najane Kyun". Strings () was a Pakistani pop/rock band composed of two members, plus four live band members from Karachi, Pakistan. The band was initially formed by four college students—Bilal Maqsood (vocals and guitars), Faisal Kapadia (vocals), Rafiq Wazir Ali (synthesizer) and Kareem Bashir Bhoy (bass guitar)—in 1988. In 1992 the quartet disbanded, only to make a comeback with Maqsood and Kapadia in 2000. Sagarika DaCosta
Sagarika Mukherjee (born 4 September 1970), also known as Saag, is an Indian singer and actress. She sings mainly in Hindi, Assamese and Bengali language songs but has also sung in Tamil and Telugu languages. She is the daughter of singer and composer Manas Mukherjee and granddaughter of lyricist Jahar Mukherjee. Najane Kyun
"Najane Kyun" (, literal English translation: "Don't Know Why?") is a song by Strings released on the 2004 soundtrack for the film ''Spider-Man 2''. This track is on the Pakistani version of the soundtrack. The song is also featured on their fourth studio album, ''Dhaani'', released in 2003. Background In June 2004, before they could record their next song, "Najane Kyun", Strings were approached by the heads at Columbia TriStar Films of India, a sister company to their record label company to include the song in the soundtrack of the Hindi version of the epic Hollywood blockbuster ''Spider-Man 2''. With their massive presence in the Indian pop music scene, Strings were mistaken for an Indian band. Hariharan (born 3 April 1955) is an Indian playback, bhajan and ghazal singer who predominantly sings in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu languages. Duur (Urdu: دور, literal English translation: "far") is the third album by the Pakistani pop band Strings, first released on 21 January 2000 and then re-released on 1 January 2002. Singles from the album were ''Duur'', ''Anjane'', and ''Aankhain''. The album was a result of the band's comeback into the Pakistani pop scene after a hiatus of eight years. Originally a quartet, the band decided to continue with only two of its former members. Shallum Asher Xavier
Shallum Asher Xavier is a Pakistani guitarist, composer and music producer. He has been recording professionally for 15 years, and has played as a session musician and recorded with artists including Ali Haider (singer), Ali Haider, Najam Shiraz, Zeb and Haniya, Hadiqa Kiyani, and Strings (band), Strings. In 2003 Xavier, with Imran Momina formed the band Fuzön (band), Fuzön. Shallum is currently working on his own album which features various artists from across borders. Xavier had been awarded Best Guitarist of Pakistan 2 years running, as well as an award for Best South Asian Band and Best Composer for his composition of Khamaj.
