Durin Bridge
Durin Bridge ( ms, Jambatan Durin) or Sibu-Durin Bridge is a bridge connecting Sibu and Durin in Sarawak, Malaysia. The bridge is part of the Jalan Sibu-Durin of the Pan Borneo Highway. History The bridge was opened on 2006 to replace the ferry service between Sibu and Durin. During that time, it was opened as two way bridge. A new bridge parallel to the existing bridge was completed in 2020. Phase 2 During upgrading of the Pan Borneo Highway, Lebuhraya Borneo Utara Sdn Bhd (LBU) wants to doubling the bridge into four on 2015. The phase 2 of the Durin Bridge will be built under the Pan Borneo Highway project and after its completion, it will turned into a four-lane carriageway bridge. Sibu Division is one of the twelve administrative divisions of Sarawak, Malaysia. It has a total area of 8,278.3 square kilometres, and is the third largest division after Kapit Division and Miri Division. The population of Sibu Division (year 2000 census) was 257,300. Sibu (; Foochow Romanized, Hokchew Romanized: ''Sĭ-bŭ'') is a landlocked city in the central region of Sarawak. It is the capital of Sibu District in Sibu Division, Sarawak, Malaysia. Pan Borneo Highway
Pan Borneo Highway ( ms, Lebuhraya Pan Borneo), also known as Trans-Borneo Highway or Trans-Kalimantan Highway ( id, Jalan Lintas Kalimantan), is a road network on Borneo Island connecting two Malaysian states, Sabah and Sarawak, with Brunei and Kalimantan region in Indonesia. The highway is numbered AH150 in the Asian Highway Network and as Federal Route 1 in Sarawak. In Sabah, the route numbers given are 1, 13 and 22. The highway is a joint project between both governments which started as soon as the formation of Malaysia in 1963 which comprised Malaya, Sabah, Sarawak and Singapore. Baru Bian (born 9 September 1958) is a Malaysian politician. He has served as the Member of Parliament (MP) for Selangau since May 2018 and Member of the Sarawak State Legislative Assembly (MLA) for Ba'kelalan since April 2011. He also had served as the Minister of Works in the Pakatan Harapan (PH) administration under former Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad from July 2018 to the collapse of the PH administration in February 2020.
