Dunnstown is a town in Victoria, Australia. The town is located in the Shire of Moorabool, west of the state capital, Melbourne on the flats below Mount Warrenheip and approximately east of Ballarat. At the , Dunnstown and the surrounding area had a population of 259. History Dunn's Town Post Office opened on 21 November 1864, was renamed Dunn's Town Railway Station PO in 1884, Dunnstown in 1909 and closed in 1980. Brind's Distillery, a former whiskey distillery complex on Old Melbourne Road, is listed on the Victorian Heritage Register. It is Victoria's last surviving example of a pot still distillery. In 1893, the distillery employed nearly one third of those working in Victorian distilleries. Parts of the complex have been used more recently for bottling spring water. Ballarat ( ) is a city in the Central Highlands of Victoria, Australia. At the 2021 Census, Ballarat had a population of 116,201, making it the third largest city in Victoria. The Shire of Moorabool is a local government area in Victoria, Australia, located in the western part of the state. It covers an area of and, in June 2018, had a population of 34,158. It includes the towns of Ballan, Bacchus Marsh, Balliang, Mount Wallace, Myrniong, Blackwood, Greendale, Gordon, Korweinguboora and Mount Egerton, Bungaree, Elaine and Wallace. Australian football, also called Australian rules football or Aussie rules, or more simply football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of 18 players on an oval field, often a modified cricket ground. Warrenheip is a suburb of Ballarat, Victoria, Australia on the eastern rural-urban fringe named after nearby Mount Warrenheip. At the , Warrenheip had a population of 721.
