Dungarvan GAA is a GAA club based in Dungarvan, County Waterford, Republic of Ireland. The club participates in both hurling and Gaelic football. The club currently heads the roll of honour in the Waterford Senior Football Championship with a total of 19 wins. The club attracted significant national attention in 2020 when a player competed in the final of the Waterford Intermediate Football Championship despite awaiting the result of a COVID-19 test, which returned a positive result. Dungarvan
Dungarvan () is a coastal town and harbour in County Waterford, on the south-east coast of Ireland. Prior to the merger of Waterford County Council with Waterford City Council in 2014, Dungarvan was the county town and administrative centre of County Waterford. Waterford City and County Council retains administrative offices in the town. The town's Irish name means "Garbhann's fort", referring to Saint Garbhann who founded a church there in the seventh century. Waterford Intermediate Hurling Championship is a second-tier hurling competition organised by the Waterford Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association. Waterford Senior Hurling Championship
The Waterford Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the JJ Kavanagh & Sons Senior Hurling Championship) is an annual hurling competition organised by the Waterford County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association since 1897 for the top hurling teams in the county of Waterford in Ireland. The series of games are played during the spring, summer and autumn months with the county final currently being played at Walsh Park in October. Initially played as a knock-out competition, the championship currently features a group stage followed by a knock-out stage. Jamie Nagle
Jamie Nagle (born 19 December 1986) is an Irish people, Irish former Hurling, hurler who played as a midfielder at senior level for the Waterford county hurling team, Waterford county team. Nagle joined the team during the 2007 National Hurling League, 2007 National League and became a regular member of the starting fifteen over subsequent seasons. Since then he has won one Munster Senior Hurling Championship, Munster SHC medal and one National Hurling League medal. Nagle has been an All-Ireland SHC runner-up on one occasion.
