Dubai Japanese School
The Dubai Japanese School (DJS) or is a Japanese curriculum school located in the Al Wasl area in Dubai. The Northern Association of Japanese Community established the school in 1980. The school is in proximity of Jumeira Beach. The pink-colored building is adjacent to the Modern High School campus. Nihonjin Gakkō
, also called Japanese school, is a full-day school outside Japan intended primarily for Japanese citizens living abroad. It is an expatriate school designed for children whose parents are working on diplomatic, business, or education missions overseas and have plans to repatriate to Japan. The schools offer exactly the same curriculum used in public elementary and junior high schools in Japan, so when the students go back to Japan, they will not fall behind in the class. Some schools accept Japanese citizens only; others welcome Japanese speaking students regardless of citizenship. They are accredited by Japan's Ministry of education and science and receive funding from the Japanese government. There were 85 schools worldwide as of April 2006, and all of these schools provide English classes in the primary education. Al Wasl ( ar, الوصل) is a locality in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE). The locality is located in western Dubai, between the first and second interchanges of route E 11 (Sheikh Zayed Road). Al Wasl is a residential community and is bordered to the north by Jumeirah, to the south by Business Bay, to west by Al Safa and to the east by Al Satwa. Jumeira Beach is a white sand beach that is located and named after the Jumeirah district of Dubai, United Arab Emirates, on the coast of the Persian Gulf.
