Dry Creek is a stream in southern Crawford County in southeast Missouri. It is a tributary of Huzzah Creek. The stream headwaters arise about three miles northwest of Dillard and it meanders to the north crossing under routes H and 49 about one mile southeast of Cherryville. The stream continues to the north passing the community of Westover and on to its confluence with Huzzah Creek just south of Missouri Route 8 Route 8 is a state highway in the eastern part of the U.S. state of Missouri. Huzzah Creek (Meramec River Tributary)
Huzzah Creek () is a clear-flowing stream in the southern part of the U.S. state of Missouri. According to the information in the Ramsay Place Names File at the University of Missouri, the creek's name "is evidently derived from" ''Huzzaus'', one of the early French versions of the name of the Osage people. The Huzzah's headwaters are in the Mark Twain National Forest in northern Reynolds County. It flows northward through the Missouri Ozarks, roughly paralleling the course of Courtois Creek to its east, until it enters the Meramec River shortly after passing under the Crawford County Highway E bridge. Along its course it flows through the Dillard Mill State Historic Site and, near its confluence with the Meramec, the Huzzah Conservation Area. Route 49 is a highway in eastern Missouri. Its northern terminus is at Route 19 in Cherryville; is southern terminus is at U.S. Route 67 five miles (8 km) east of Williamsville. Route 8 is a state highway in the eastern part of the U.S. state of Missouri. It travels from Interstate 44 (I-44) in St. James to U.S. Route 67 (US 67) and US 67 Business in Desloge. It acts as a bypass, from I-44 in St. James, to US 67 in Desloge. Travelers on I-44 can use it to avoid the traffic problems in St. Louis, to US 67 in Desloge, & vice versa. Those who want to go to Ste. Genevieve can take US 67 Bus. through Park Hills to US 67, to Farmington, then take Route 32 to Ste. Genevieve. There have supposedly been plans to extend Route 8 to Ste. Genevieve. So far, those plans have not been put into effect. Between Steelville and Potosi, Route 8 was initially Route 62 from 1922 to 1926.
