Drei Schwestern
Drei Schwestern (The Three Sisters) is a mountain located on the border of Austria and Liechtenstein. It forms a natural boundary between Liechtenstein and the Austrian state of Vorarlberg. The Three Sisters are a three peaked mountain chain in the Rätikon, a mountain range of the Western Central Alps. The highest peak, the ''Great Sister'', is 2,053m above sea level. The ''Middle Sister'', located north-east of it reaches a height of 2,048m, and the north-eastern ''Little Sister'' 2,034m high. The three peaks mark the border between Feldkirch in Austria and Liechtenstein. Through a well developed road system they are easily accessible and are often climbed. The first ascent was probably made by hunters. The first recorded ascent was on the 10 June 1870 by John Sholto Douglass from Thüringen, Vorarlberg, with a hunter named Wieser from Frastanz. Rätikon
The Rätikon is a mountain range of the Central Eastern Alps, located at the border between Vorarlberg, Liechtenstein and Graubünden. It is the geological border between the Eastern and Western Alps and stretches from the Montafon as far as the Rhine. In the south, the Prättigau is its limit, and in the north, it is the Walgau. In the east, it borders the Silvretta groups. The Rätikon mountain range derives its name from Raetia, a province of the Roman Empire, named after the Rhaetian (''Raeti'' or ''Rhaeti'') people. Topography and geology The classification of the Rätikon to the central Eastern Alps is based solely on geographic-geological traditions. Feldkirch, Vorarlberg
Feldkirch () is a medieval town in the western Austrian state of Vorarlberg, bordering on Switzerland and Liechtenstein. It is the administrative centre of the Feldkirch district. After Dornbirn, it is the second most populous town in Vorarlberg. The westernmost point in Austria lies in Feldkirch on the river Rhine, at the tripoint between Austria, Switzerland, and Liechtenstein. Alpine Rhine Valley
The Alpine Rhine Valley (german: Alpenrheintal) is a glacial alpine valley, formed by the part of the Alpine Rhine (german: Alpenrhein ) between the confluence of the Anterior Rhine and Posterior Rhine at Reichenau and the Alpine Rhine's mouth at Lake Constance. It covers three countries and the full length of the Alpine Rhine is 93.5 km. From Reichenau, the Alpine Rhine flows east, passing Chur and turning north, before it turns north-east at Landquart, and then roughly north, east of Sargans.
