Drawing Black Lines
''Drawing Black Lines'' is the second studio album by the American band Project 86. The success of their debut, especially the song "Pipe Dream", attracted the attention of several major record labels. Originally released on BEC Recordings on March 21, 2000, the album was reissued with Atlantic Records branding after the major label signed the band. Reception AllMusic has described the album as "a testimony to Christendom while musically driving a fist through traditional Christian thinking." Lyrically, the album takes a different thread from its predecessor, turning the mirror of introspection into a window viewing society at large. The music also shows significant gains in maturity as well, advancing from a rapcore sound to one classified as metalcore or alternative metal. Project 86
Project 86 is an American metal band from Orange County, California, formed in 1996. The band has released ten albums, which have collectively sold nearly 500,000 units worldwide, two EPs, two DVDs, and one live album. In 1998, BEC Recordings released a self-titled debut album that was well received by critics and consumers. Their second release, ''Drawing Black Lines'', garnered attention from mainstream record labels; Atlantic licensed the album from Tooth & Nail Records, the parent company of BEC. The band's third release, '' Truthless Heroes'', was released exclusively by Atlantic, after the band was bought-out of their original deal with Tooth & Nail. Rapcore
Rap rock is a fusion genre that fuses vocal and instrumental elements of hip hop with various forms of rock. Rap rock's most popular subgenres include rap metal and rapcore, which include heavy metal and hardcore punk-oriented influences, respectively. Project 86 Albums

Chris Crippin
Chris Crippin (born August 4, 1974) is a Canadian musician. He is best known as the former drummer of the rock band Hedley. Crippin departed the band in 2017. Outside of Hedley, he was the drum technician on the 2000 album '' Drawing Black Lines'' by the American band Project 86. He also played drums for Bif Naked. In 2018, Crippin started a new project called MrCrippin. Early life Crippin began to have an interest in music at a very young age. It wasn't until his mid-teen years when he started learning how to play drums. Career Before joining Hedley, Crippin worked as a drum technician and played drums for several different artists. Brandon Ebel
Brandon Ebel is the founder, president and CEO of Tooth & Nail Records. He founded the label in 1993 in California, United States. The label has since grown to include sub-labels BEC Recordings, Solid State Records and Uprok Records. Ebel has contributed to hundreds of releases the label has put out. GGGarth
Garth "GGGarth" Richardson is a Canadian record producer and music engineer. He is the son of music producer Jack Richardson (Alice Cooper, The Guess Who, Badfinger, Poco), a pioneer of the music recording industry in the 1960s and 1970s. Garth Richardson has done music engineering work for the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers, Nickelback, and Mötley Crüe, and produced for Kittie, Biffy Clyro, Rage Against the Machine, Mudvayne, Melvins, Shihad, Kensington, and many others. He cofounded the Nimbus School of Recording Arts in Vancouver, British Columbia together with Bob Ezrin and Kevin Williams. Steven Dail
Steven Dail is a musician who is known for playing bass guitar in several Christian metal bands including Project 86 and White Lighter, and Christian punk band Crash Rickshaw. Other bands he has played in are Starflyer 59, Low & Behold, Innermeans and Bloodshed. Dail is best known for his career with the alternative metal band Project 86, but he has also been a part of several other notable projects. Though Dail continues actively with White Lighter and Starflyer 59, he mentioned recently that Neon Horse and Crash Rickshaw could potentially reunite. Randy Torres
Randy Torres is a guitarist, drummer, keyboardist and background vocalist from Seattle. He has previously played for the bands Project 86, a Christian rock group, and Crash Rickshaw. He has filled in as rhythm guitarist for the band Demon Hunter and as keyboardist, guitarist, percussionist and background vocalist for Anberlin on a recent tour. Andrew Schwab
Andrew Schwab is the lead singer for the band Project 86. He is also a graphic designer, calligrapher, author, and hosts Pioneers Podcast: Finding Your Creative Voice. Project 86 In 1996, Schwab formed Project 86 with, Matt Hernandez, Ethan Luck, and Randy Torres and recorded a Demo. Hernandez left soon after and was replaced by Luck, who was replaced by Alex Albert on the Drums. Luck left a year later and was replaced by Steven Dail. ''7ball'' is a discontinued Christian music magazine, first published in 1995. They focused on rock, hip-hop, and other "alternative" forms of Christian music. The magazine was initially published by the Royal Magazine Group (a division of Thomas Nelson) alongside ''Release'' magazine and others. Metalcore
Metalcore (also known as metallic hardcore) is a fusion music genre that combines elements of extreme metal and hardcore punk. As with other styles blending metal and hardcore, such as crust punk and grindcore, metalcore is noted for its use of breakdowns, slow, intense passages conducive to moshing. Other defining instrumental qualities include heavy riffs and stop-start rhythm guitar playing, occasional blast beats, and double bass drumming. Vocalists in the genre typically use thrash or scream vocals. Some later metalcore bands combine this with clean singing, often during the chorus.
