Project 86
Project 86 is an American metal band from Orange County, California, formed in 1996. The band has released ten albums, which have collectively sold nearly 500,000 units worldwide, two EPs, two DVDs, and one live album. In 1998, BEC Recordings released a self-titled debut album that was well received by critics and consumers. Their second release, ''Drawing Black Lines'', garnered attention from mainstream record labels; Atlantic licensed the album from Tooth & Nail Records, the parent company of BEC. The band's third release, '' Truthless Heroes'', was released exclusively by Atlantic, after the band was bought-out of their original deal with Tooth & Nail. The band parted ways with Atlantic shortly after their third release, upon which they had a short stint as an independent. Drawing Black Lines
''Drawing Black Lines'' is the second studio album by the American band Project 86. The success of their debut, especially the song "Pipe Dream", attracted the attention of several major record labels. Originally released on BEC Recordings on March 21, 2000, the album was reissued with Atlantic Records branding after the major label signed the band. Reception AllMusic has described the album as "a testimony to Christendom while musically driving a fist through traditional Christian thinking." Lyrically, the album takes a different thread from its predecessor, turning the mirror of introspection into a window viewing society at large. Project 86 (album)
''Project 86'' is the debut album of the American band Project 86. It was released on June 16, 1998 on BEC Recordings, the Christian imprint of Tooth & Nail Records. This album established Project 86 as one of the more promising hardcore/metal groups in the Christian music scene. According to one critic, Project 86 became "one of the few Christian acts to gain exposure to the general market" by the turn of the millennium. The album sold over 30,000 copies before the release of the band's second album in the year 2000. Style and content ''Project 86'' features a rap styled vocal delivery over hard-edged, downtuned guitars. Jason Gerken
Jason Gerken is an American musician, who has played in Molly McGuire, Shiner, Open Hand, Project 86, and most recently, HUM as well as The Birth Defects and Sie Lieben Maschinen. Gerken took over for Bryan St. Pere of HUM, when he decided to part ways with the band. Mark Salomon
Mark Salomon (born 1970) is an American singer best known as the lead singer of the hard rock bands Stavesacre and the Crucified. Other bands in which he has been a key member include the punk rock Outer Circle and rap-oriented Native Son and Neon Horse. In both Stavesacre and the Crucified, he served as primary lyricist as well. Biography Mark Salomon was born in 1970 in Reno, Nevada. However, around 1972, Salomon's mother moved to California, away from his father. Growing up around Fresno, California, he was exposed to hard rock and hardcore punk bands such as U2, Suicidal Tendencies, Minor Threat, and G.B.H. Unashamed was a Christian hardcore punk band that became one of the founding bands in the Spirit-Filled HardCore movement. Their bold faith-based lyrics center around ideas directly lifted from the Bible and conservative morality. They released two albums on Tooth & Nail Records. Relient K is an American rock band formed in 1998 in Canton, Ohio, by Matt Thiessen, Matt Hoopes, and Brian Pittman Board Message during the band members' third year in high school and their time at Malone University. Project 86 worked with Matt McClellan and Andrew Schwab on the production of this album.
