Draw!
''Draw!'' is a 1984 American Western comedy film directed by Steven Hilliard Stern. It stars Kirk Douglas, James Coburn and Alexandra Bastedo. Plot In the final days of the Old West, a former desperado, Harry Holland (Kirk Douglas), only wants to leave Bell City with money he won fairly at a poker game. However, his way is barred by Reggie Bell (Derek McGrath), a gambler who lost most of the money, the sheriff and a deputy, Wally Blodgett (Graham Jarvis). In the subsequent shoot-out, the sheriff is killed and Holland and Bell are wounded. Holland takes refuge in a hotel along with a 'hostage' - Bess, (Alexandra Bastedo). The townsfolk decide the only thing to do is hire an ex-sheriff, Sam Starret ( James Coburn), to 'face down' Holland. But he is now a drunk - can he beat his long-time nemesis? Bryna Productions (later renamed The Bryna Company) is an American independent film and television production company established by actor Kirk Douglas in 1949. The company also produced a handful of films through its subsidiaries, Michael Productions, Joel Productions and Douglas and Lewis Productions, and outside the United States through Brynaprod. Steven Hilliard Stern (November 1, 1937 – June 27, 2018) was a Canadian television and documentary director, producer and writer. Biography Stern attended Ryerson Institute of Technology and served in the Canadian Infantry before inaugurating his directing career. He began his career in advertising, writing and directing radio and TV commercials, then moved to Los Angeles in the 1960s where he wrote for the ABC variety show, ''The Hollywood Palace''. The bulk of Stern's output was in the field of made-for-TV movies, both in the United States and Canada, focusing on women's issues, noir thriller, action/adventure and occasionally, sports.
