Doxa Lefkadas BC
Doxa Lefkadas B.C., or simply Doxa B.C., is a professional basketball club that is located on the island of Lefkada, in Lefkada City, Greece. The club currently plays in Greek basketball's 3rd-tier level Greek B Basket League. History The parent athletic club Doxa Lefkadas, was founded in 1981. The men's basketball team was then founded in 1982. The club first played in a national division in 1987, when it played in the 4th-tier level Greek C Basket League. The team won the 4th-tier Greek C Basket League in 2010, thus earning a promotion to the 3rd-tier level Greek B Basket League. Doxa Lefkadas competed in the Greek Cup for the first time, in the 2010–11 season. For the 2011–12 season, Iraklis Thessaloniki declined its place in the 2nd-tier level Greek A2 Basket League, and Doxa Lefkadas replaced it in the league. Greek B Basket League
The Greek B Basket League, or Greek B Basketball League (Greek: Ελληνική Β Μπασκετ Λιγκ), is a national basketball league in Greece. It is also known as the Second National Championship, B National Championship, Second National League, B National League, Third Division, and in Greek, (Βήτα Εθνική καλαθοσφαίρισης) (Beta Ethniki Basketball). It is organized by the Hellenic Basketball Federation (E.O.K.). It is the 3rd-tier level of the basketball league system in Greece, and was founded in its current form in 1986. 2014–15 Greek A2 Basket League
The 2014–15 Greek A2 Basket League was the 29th season of the Greek A2 Basket League, the second-tier level professional club basketball league in Greece. The winner of the league was Kavala The clubs that were promoted to the top-tier Greek Basket League were Kavala, Arkadikos, and Lavrio. In contrast, the teams that were relegated to the third tier Greek B Basket League were Filippos Veria, Ermis Lagkada, and Ilysiakos Ilysiakos withdrew from the league in the middle of the season, because of economic debts. All the games of Ilysiakos were given back to their opponents with scores of 20–0. Ioannis Demertzis (alternate spellings: Giannis, Yiannis) (Greek: Γιάννης Δεμερτζης; born July 20, 1983) is a Greek professional basketball player. He is 1.96 m (6 ft 5 in) tall. Professional career After playing youth basketball with Mantoulidis, Demertzis started his pro playing career in 2005, in the Greek 2nd Division, playing with ICBS. In 2006, he moved to Iraklis, where he stayed only for one year. In 2007, he moved to PAOK Thessaloniki, where he stayed until 2010.
