Donald Mackenzie Cameron
Donald Mackenzie Cameron (November 11, 1843 – May 12, 1936) was a Scottish-born merchant, journalist and political figure in Ontario, Canada. He represented Middlesex West in the House of Commons of Canada from 1883 to 1887 as a Liberal member. Cameron was born in Dingwall and was educated in Edinburgh and London, Ontario, having come to Canada in 1859. In 1879, he married Victoria Wilson Gooderham. He worked with the London ''Prototype'' and the Toronto '' Globe''. Cameron served as deputy reeve in 1879 and reeve from 1881 to 1883 for Strathroy and was warden for Middlesex County in 1883. He was also a member of the local school board. Cameron was elected in an 1883 by-election held after the election of George William Ross was declared invalid. William Frederick Roome
William Frederick Roome (November 21, 1841 – September 1, 1921) was a physician and political figure in Ontario, Canada. He represented Middlesex West in the House of Commons of Canada from 1887 to 1896 as a Conservative member. He was born in Oxford Township, Canada West. George William Ross
Sir George William Ross (September 18, 1841 – March 7, 1914) was an educator and politician in the Canadian province of Ontario. He was the fifth premier of Ontario from 1899 to 1905. Early life Born near Nairn, in Middlesex County, Upper Canada, Ross worked as a school teacher, a school inspector and a newspaper publisher before he got into politics. Ross's parents had emigrated from Tain in the Highlands of Scotland in 1831 and the language of his youth was Scottish Gaelic. He, along with his fellow Canadian Gaels, held a lifelong love for the language. As a tribute, a short biographical account of Ross was printed in Gaelic in Ontario in the year following his death. ''The Globe'' was a newspaper in Toronto, Ontario, Canada, founded in 1844 by George Brown (Canadian politician), George Brown as a Reform movement (pre-Confederation Canada), Reform voice. It merged with ''The Mail and Empire'' in 1936 to form ''The Globe and Mail''. History ''The Globe'' is pre-dated by a title of the same name, which ran from 1840 to 1841; they are of no relation. London (pronounced ) is a city in southwestern Ontario, Canada, along the Quebec City–Windsor Corridor. The city had a population of 422,324 according to the 2021 Canadian census.
