Donald F. Fraser
Donald Fisher Fraser (August 16, 1872 – March 13, 1946) was a Canadian politician. He represented the electoral district of Pictou County in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1933 to 1937. He was a member of the Nova Scotia Liberal Party. Fraser was born in 1872 at Goldenville, Nova Scotia. He married Evelyn Woodman in 1926, and was the editor and publisher of the ''Eastern Chronicle'' newspaper. Fraser first attempted to enter provincial politics in the 1928 election, but was defeated. He ran again in 1933, and was elected in the dual-member Pictou County riding with Liberal Josiah H. MacQuarrie Josiah H. Goldenville, Nova Scotia
Goldenville is a small community located near to Sherbrooke, Nova Scotia in the Municipality of the District of St. Mary's. The community is mainly a forestry community but also has a gold mining museum. History Nelson Nickerson found gold in the Goldenville area in August, 1861 and Zeba Hewitt built one of the first houses in the village that fall. By July, 1862, several houses had been erected in Goldenville and mining was begun. Two wharves were built the following spring and a road was constructed to the diggings. In 1867 the Templars erected a hall that was also used as a church. An Orange Order Lodge Hall was built in 1869 and the lower part was used as a schoolroom. A Masonic Lodge Hall was also built in 1869. A Roman Catholic chapel was built in Goldenville in 1871, but was moved to Sherbrooke in 1907. Josiah H
Josiah ( or ) or Yoshiyahu; la, Iosias was the 16th king of Judah (–609 BCE) who, according to the Hebrew Bible, instituted major religious reforms by removing official worship of gods other than Yahweh. Josiah is credited by most biblical scholars with having established or compiled important Hebrew scriptures during the "Deuteronomic reform" which probably occurred during his rule. Josiah became king of the Kingdom of Judah at the age of eight, after the assassination of his father, King Amon. Josiah reigned for 31 years, from 641/640 to 610/609 BCE. The Nova Scotia Liberal Party is a centrist provincial political party in Nova Scotia, Canada and the provincial section of the Liberal Party of Canada. The party currently forms the Official Opposition in Nova Scotia, under the leadership of Zach Churchill. The party was in power most recently from the 2013 election until the 2021 election. Origins The party is descended from the pre-Confederation Reformers in Nova Scotia who coalesced around Joseph Howe demanding the institution of responsible government. The Liberals (Reformers) formed several governments in the colony between 1848 and 1867. New Glasgow is a town in Pictou County, in the province of Nova Scotia, Canada. It is situated on the banks of the East River of Pictou, which flows into Pictou Harbour, a sub-basin of the Northumberland Strait. The town's population was 9,075 in the 2016 census. Hugh Allan MacQuarrie (November 25, 1874 – February 26, 1942) was an undertaker, furniture dealer and political figure in Nova Scotia, Canada. He represented Pictou County in the Nova Scotia House of Assembly from 1928 to 1933 as a Conservative Party of Nova Scotia, Liberal-Conservative member. He was born in Stellarton, Nova Scotia, the son of John MacQuarrie and Margaret MacGregor. MacQuarrie married Minnie Elizabeth Walters. He was mayor of Westville, Nova Scotia, Westville in 1920. He died in Westville at the age of 67.
