Izaak Huru Doko
Izaak Huru Doko (also Izaac; 20 November, 1913 – 29 July, 1985) is a Timorese National Hero of Indonesia. The title was granted on 3 November 2006. Biography Doko was born in Sabu, Kupang, Timor, on 20 November, 1913. He completed his primary education at Dutch-run schools in Kupang before going to Bandung, West Java, to study at a school for teachers. There he met Herman Johannes, with whom he established the organisation Timorsche Jongeren (Young Timorese). He also founded political party called "Perserikatan Kebangsaan Timor" in Kupang, with the goal of Indonesian independence. During the Japanese occupation, following the overthrow of the Dutch colonial government, he was hired as the leader of Bunkyo Kakari in Kupang from 1st March 1942, a position he held until 1945. Doko wrote extensively on the condition of the Timorese people in Timor Syuho newspaper; he also represented his people in a Japanese-run local government. Dokos
Dokos ( el, Δοκός) is a small Greek island of the Argo-Saronic Gulf, adjacent to Hydra, and separated from the Peloponnese by a narrow strait called, on some maps, "the Hydra Gulf." It is part of the municipality of Ýdra (Hydra) in Islands regional unit and reported a population of 18 persons at the 2011 census. The island is populated only by some Orthodox monks and perennial sheep herders. The island is rocky, reaching a height of 308 metres. During the ancient times it was called Aperopia (Ἀπεροπία). Tetsugen Doko
Tetsugen Dōkō (鉄眼道光 1630–1682) was a Japanese Zen Master, and an important early leader of the Ōbaku school of Buddhism. Tetsugen was born in the seventh year of the Kan'ei era (1630) in Higo Province. He became a priest of the Jodo Shinshu sect at the age of 13. When Ingen came to Japan, Tetsugen became his follower in the Ōbaku school. In 1681, Tetsugen oversaw the production of the first complete woodcut edition (consisting of around 60,000 pieces) of the Chinese Buddhist sutras in Japan. Tetsugen died at the age of 53 in the second year of the Tenna era (1682). The anniversary of Tetsugen's birth is celebrated on January 1 in the Western calendar. Đoko Šalić ( sr, Ђоко Шалић, born September 18, 1995) is a Serbian-Bosnian professional basketball player for Cherkaski Mavpy of the Ukrainian Basketball SuperLeague. Toshiwo Doko (土光 敏夫 ''Dokō Toshio''; September 15, 1896 – August 4, 1988) was a Japanese engineer born in Mitsu District, Okayama, Manager, President and Chairman of Ishikawajima Heavy Industry (IHI) and Toshiba. Background Dokō was a key manager in the Japanese economic miracle after World War II, in particular, from 1974 to 1980 when he helmed the Toshiba Corporation and was appointed chairman of the Japan Business Federation (Keidanren).
