Doe (band)
Doe (''/dəʊ/'', previously stylised as DOE) were a British indie rock band from London, England, consisting of Nicola Leel (guitar, vocals), Jake Popyura (drums, vocals) and Dean Smithers (guitar). The band released two studio albums and toured extensively in the UK, Europe and USA. History Doe started in early 2013 after Nicola Leel and Jake Popyura, who had met through a classified ad the previous year, cemented the initial lineup with the addition of guitarist Alessandro 'Alex' Sorenti. Their formation was quickly followed by a string of UK shows, three EP releases (''S/t'', ''Summer 2013'' and ''Late Bloomer'') and a European tour with their friends The Exhausts. Matthew Sykes joined on guitar after Sorenti's departure and the band released ''Sooner'', an EP coupled with a lyric/photo zine. Honeyblood is the Scottish indie rock solo project of guitarist and singer-songwriter Stina Tweeddale (born 23 November 1988). It was originally formed as a duo in Glasgow, Scotland, in 2012. History and formation Formation and beginnings Shona McVicar from Cumbernauld (drums/vocals) and Edinburgh-born Stina Marie Claire Tweeddale met when their previous bands (Partwindpartwolf and Boycotts, respectively) played the same gig in 2012. The name came from two places: the type of stage blood Tweeddale had used for a Halloween concert while performing with Boycotts, and as a reference to the lyrics of the song "Gutless" by Hole. Pile is an American indie rock band originally from Boston, Massachusetts now based in Nashville, Tennessee. Starting as the solo act of Rick Maguire in the late 2000s, Pile has been a collective since the release of ''Magic Isn't Real'' in 2010. To date, Pile has released seven full-length albums. LVL UP was an American lo-fi band from Purchase, New York, United States. History LVL UP formed in 2011 at SUNY Purchase as a recording project between Mike Caridi, Dave Benton, and their friend Ben Smith, with the original intention of releasing a split cassette with Nick Corbo's then-solo material. They instead released their debut album, ''Space Brothers'' via Evil Weevil Records, as one band, and Greg Rutkin joined shortly afterwards for the group's first show.
