''Doctor Solm'' (german: Oberarzt Dr. Solm) is a 1955 West German drama film directed by Paul May and starring Hans Söhnker, Sybil Werden and Antje Weisgerber.Bock & Bergfelder p.451 The film's sets were designed by the art director Mathias Matthies and Karl Vollbrecht. It was filmed at the Spandau Studios in Berlin with location shooting around Kitzbühel in Austria. Paul May
Paul May (8 May 1909 – 25 February 1976) was a German film director and editor. He directed 40 films between 1935 and 1972. Biography He was the son of Peter Ostermayr, a film producer with Universum Film AG, and his wife Olga, ''née'' Wernhard. After secondary school in Feldkirch, he entered to film industry and trained in film laboratory work. He became a film editor in 1930 and assistant director in 1935. His first film as director was ''Edelweißkönig'', in 1938. After the Second World War, he adopted the pseudonym Paul May. His greatest successes were '' 08/15'' (1954), ''The Forests Sing Forever'' (1959), ''Via Mala'' (1961) from the book by John Knittel, and ''Scotland Yard Hunts Dr. Mabuse'' (1963) with Peter van Eyck. Kurt Vespermann
Kurt Vespermann (1 May 1887 – 13 July 1957) was a German stage and film actor. Career Vespermann was born into an actor's family in Culmsee, West Prussia, Imperial Germany today Chełmża, Poland. Already his great-grandparents were actors and directors at different operas and theatres. Vespermann began his career in 1913 at the Royal Schauspielhaus Berlin and first appeared in silent movies in 1915. Wolfgang Preiss
Wolfgang Preiss (27 February 1910 – 27 November 2002) was a German theatre, film and television actor. The son of a teacher, Preiss studied philosophy, German, and drama in the early 1930s. He also took private acting classes with Hans Schlenck, making his stage début in Munich in 1932. He appeared in various theatre productions in Heidelberg, Königsberg, Bonn, Bremen, Stuttgart and Berlin. In 1942, he made his film début – he was specifically exempted from military service – in the UFA production ''Die grosse Liebe'' with Zarah Leander. After the end of the Second World War, Preiss returned to the theatre, and from 1949 worked extensively dubbing films into German. In 1954, he returned to film acting, appearing in Alfred Weidenmann's ''Canaris''. Harald Juhnke () (born Harry Heinz Herbert Juhnke, 10 June 1929 – 1 April 2005), was a German actor, comedian, and singer. Life and career Juhnke was born in Berlin-Charlottenburg. His father was a police officer and his mother came from a family of bakers. He grew up in the working-class district of Gesundbrunnen in Berlin. His first stage appearance was in 1948. In 1950, he was hired by the theater in Neustrelitz. In the following years, he worked in several other theaters, including the Volksbühne in Berlin.
